Mr. Wen Yiduo.
Modern poetry pursues freedom too much and forgets the unique attributes that poetry should have, making it less and less like poetry.
On May 13, 1926, Mr. Wen Yiduo published an article "The Rhythm of Poetry" in the "Beijing Morning News Supplement", giving a special description of this issue.
Even after more than 90 years, this article still has practical significance.
Why is modern poetry so unpopular? Mr. Wen Yiduo has long pointed out the problem
"The reason why poetry can stimulate emotions lies entirely in its rhythm; rhythm is meter." This is Mr. Wen Yiduo's new view of "meter" definition.
"Rhythm" does not necessarily mean rhythm. It is actually a sense of rhythm, which is the so-called rhythmic beauty.
“There are only prose with relatively simple rhythm in the world, and there can never be poetry without rhythm. Originally, poetry has never been separated from meter or rhythm.
