A hundred years old is like water, and his career floats all his life. Yesterday, my face was still peach blossom. Today, there are snowflakes floating on my head.
Of course, The Journey to the West used vivid stories to educate human individual life:
It is said that Emperor Taizong also issued decrees to pardon sinners in the world and investigate repeat offenders in prison. From time to time, the judge strangled the sinner with punishment, and more than 400 people were found. Emperor Taizong pardoned his parents and brothers and entrusted his property to his relatives and sons and nephews. He went to see Cao today next year, and he still deserved it. The criminals thanked them and then retired. There is also a list of caring orphans. There are 3,000 people in the palace, old and young, women and children, who are assigned to the army. Since then, both inside and outside are good, as evidenced by poems, including:
Wang Ende Hong of the Tang Dynasty said that Yao and Shun were rich in the people. 400 death row prisoners were released from prison and 3000 women were released from the palace.
Many officials in the world are called Shoushang. What did they slaughter in the imperial court? Kindness should be blessed by heaven, and blessings spread to 17 cases.
The Journey to the West pays more attention to the accumulation of goodness in life than reading the Bible, but his words and deeds are different.
Gankun is vast, and the sun and the moon are bright; The universe is tolerant, and there is no room for traitors in heaven and earth. Intention, the result is only in this life; Blessed are those who are good at giving and seeking, not to mention future generations. Being a man is worse than being a man. How can ten thousand strong disciples be frugal? If you are charitable, why do you want to read the scriptures? If you want to harm others, read Buddha and hide!
I also wrote two short stories this time. One is Li Cuilian's resurrection by Emperor Taizong's sister:
Just as he was shouting, he saw four or five female officials and two or three eunuchs holding him until he reached the temple. Don Juan asked, "Do you know your husband?" "Why don't we know each other?" Yu Ying said. "We have been married since childhood and have children with him." King Tang asked officials to help him down. The palace master went down to the white jade steps and saw Liu Quan. He grabbed him and said, "Husband, where are you going? Don't wait for me! I fell down and was surrounded by a group of unreasonable people who shouted at me. How can this be said! " That Liu Quan listened to what he said was his wife's words, but he didn't dare to recognize him. Wang Dao in the Tang Dynasty: "This is exactly what a landslide sees, but it is difficult to catch life without catching death!" What a wise king! He gave Otome's dowry, clothes and jewelry to Liu Quan, just like marrying him, and gave him an imperial edict that he would never send away, which led him to bring Otome back. His husband and wife thanked him at the door and went home happily.
Quanhe Liu, his wife is dead. Li Yuying died because she pulled out her hair, fasted and became a monk, and was reprimanded by her husband for not being virtuous and hanged herself. Liu Quan hanged himself because of his wife's remorse, vowed to kill people without blinking an eye, and went to the underworld for Emperor Taizong. This kindness won the sympathy of Hades and made Liu Quan and his wife enjoy life again. His wife died long ago and his body no longer exists, so he was revived by the sudden death of Otome, Emperor Taizong.
The second short story written back to The Journey to the West is that the lovers are virtuous and do good deeds. Although they were poor and rich in the underworld, Emperor Taizong borrowed their gold and silver to help countless ghosts when he was in the underworld, so he returned their gold and silver according to the meaning of hades after his resurrection, but the couple refused to accept it:
When Emperor Taizong saw Ben, he knew that Xiang Liang was free from gold and silver and said, "This is a kind old man!" That is to say, the decree teaches Hu Jingde to use gold and silver to build temples and shrines, and invites monks to do good deeds, as he has done. It is well known that the will has arrived in Japan, and I hope to express my gratitude and publish it. So he bought gold and silver and went to a 50-mu-wide area in the city where there was no foundation for soldiers and civilians, and built a temple on it, named "Jiansuoguo Temple". On the left, there is a shrine where "xianggong" and "xiangpo" were born, carved with stone, which reads "Wei Chigong supervised the construction", that is, today's Suoguo Temple.
Emperor Taizong summoned his ministers to discuss the matter of worshipping Buddha and giving lectures. Ministers have different opinions, each with its own reasons. However, Emperor Taizong finally believed that Buddha was a saint, compassionate and indestructible, so he sent a message to ministers to recommend noble and knowledgeable monks in the world. At this time, Master Xuan Zang first appeared:
I quoted Master Xuanzang to you that day. This man has been a monk since he was a child, and he has fasted since he was born. When his grandfather saw it, it turned out that it was Yin Kaishan, the general manager of the dynasty, and his father Chen Guangrui was the top student in middle school. The official worshiped the university students in Wenyuantang. I don't love glory wholeheartedly, but I like to practice silence. He was found to have a good family background and high moral character. After thousands of times, everything is impassable; The Buddha's name is immortal, and everything is immortal. At that time, the three men led them to the imperial court and danced dust. They bowed down and said, "Chen Xing and others have received an imperial decree to choose a monk named Chen Xuanzang." Hearing his name, Emperor Taizong pondered for a long time and said, "But is Chen Guangrui's son Xuanzang a bachelor?" Jiang Liuer kowtowed and said, "I am."
When Journey to the West was written for the eleventh time, the four disciples and apprentices had already appeared, but Tang Priest had just appeared, and his story had just begun. It can be seen from these texts that Emperor Taizong is still an important figure in The Journey to the West. In addition, several of his ministers, especially Wei Zhi, are also figures in The Journey to the West, and they are based on historical records. However, these remarks of the monarch and his ministers are full of myths.
