Han Yu (768-824), courtesy name Tuizhi, Han nationality, was from Heyang, Hanoi, Tang Dynasty (now Meng County, Henan Province). He calls himself Wang Changli of the county and Han Changli in the world. The advocate of the ancient prose movement in the Tang Dynasty, Su Shi in the Song Dynasty called him "the rise of literary works in the Eight Dynasties and the decline of the Eight Dynasties". In the name of "Wenzong", he wrote forty volumes of "Han Changli Collection", ten volumes of "Waiji Collection", "Shi Shuo" and so on.

The advocate of the ancient prose movement in the Tang Dynasty, Su Shi in the Song Dynasty called him "the founder of the Eight Dynasties of Literature" (referring to Han Yu's ancient prose that boosted the sluggish writing style of the Eight Dynasties.). The Ming Dynasty praised him as the head of the eight great prose writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties, together with Liu Zongyuan Also known as "Han Liu", Du Mu juxtaposed Korean writing with Du poetry and called it "Du Poetry and Han Bi". He is the author of forty volumes of "Han Changli Collection", ten volumes of "Waiji Collection", "Shi Shuo", etc. Later generations spoke highly of Han Yu and respected him as the head of the Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties.
