Plot summary:

Some people will not appear again, and all youth has slipped away and will not come back. So we can only be as hesitant as the competition assistant next to the boxing ring, throwing the towel and admitting defeat to fate? Or wait for the last glimmer of light?

This is a movie about dignity, forgiveness and dreams. Frankie Deng (Clint Eastwood) is old and spending his twilight years running a small and dilapidated training facility in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Frankie went to church every week and argued with the priest while attending mass, insisting on writing letters to his favorite daughter, but she would never return them intact, so he kept them carefully in a shoe box.

Frankie was once a good boxer, and later became a gold medal coach and successful match assistant, until that boxing match 23 years ago ruined it all. That time he fought against his best boxer" Iron Filings "Ed Dupres" (played by Morgan Freeman), they took risks to win without admitting defeat. As a result, in the next bloody round, Ed fell in a series of heavy blows and lost his life forever. Boxer career and vision in the right eye. This tragedy became a nightmare that tortured Frankie for 23 years. He left Ed to manage the training hall for him. "Protect yourself and never take risks" became his repeated teaching to the boxers who trained with him. They are not allowed to participate in competitions, so those talented young people have no choice but to leave.

The training hall became more dilapidated, empty and dull day by day, until one day, a mountain woman named Maggie (played by Hilary Swank) walked into the training hall...

Maggie, 31 years old, female, came from a dusty Missouri town that didn’t even have a boxing training ground. She has nothing but a bunch of vulgar and ignorant relatives, but she also has one thing that is very rare in the world: she knows what she wants, and she will do anything to get it. She tells Frankie that boxing is the only thing in her life that makes her feel alive, so she hopes Frankie can train her to become a professional boxer.

The initial answer is of course no. "You're too old, you're too amateur, and I'm not interested in training girls." But everything was nothing in front of her determination, so she began to silently hit the sandbags in the training hall every day, and finally Ed saw that It took about a year for Frankie to see her talent and determination.

After constantly irritating and encouraging each other, this unusual pair discovers that they share a spirit, a courage to transcend pain and face loss. Maggie's talent and Frankie's experience made her quickly become a skilled boxer. Then, a challenge that required more courage and strength fell from the sky and appeared in front of the three people... Chacha/Text
