"Make a heart for heaven and earth, be human, connect the past with the future, and be peaceful for all generations" comes from the quotation of Hengqu written by Confucian scholar Zhang Zai in the Northern Song Dynasty, which is summarized as "four sentences of Hengqu" by contemporary philosopher Feng Youlan.
