Natural conditions of Liaoyuan Town: Liaoyuan Town belongs to the mid-subtropical plateau monsoon humid climate zone. The four seasons are not very distinct, with water and heat in the same season, abundant rainfall, and dry and wet seasons. Obviously, the frost-free period is long, spring is warm and windy, sometimes cold in late spring, rainy in early summer, droughty in midsummer, hot but not cool, autumn temperature drops sharply with continuous rain and "autumn wind", winter is not severely cold, cloudy and less sunny, and occasionally freezing.
Historical evolution of Shixi Town: In 876 AD, the second year of Qianfu reign of Emperor Xizong of the Tang Dynasty, the two surnames Lou and Liang came to work hard on this fertile land. It has a history of more than 1,000 years. From the 29th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1601) to the second year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1663), the domain name was Louhuali. In the 34th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1908), it was reorganized into districts and belonged to the seventh district of Tongzi County.
In 1958, it was renamed Shixi Commune. In 1984, it was restructured into the People's Government of Shixi Town and was affiliated to Shixi District. In 1992, the district was withdrawn to build a town, which was established by the merger of Shixi Town, Huangping Township and Wafang Township.
