This poem was written in 678 AD (the third year of Yifeng, Tang Gaozong). At that time, King Robin, who had been demoted for more than ten years and had just been promoted to empire, was falsely accused of accepting bribes and imprisoned. Mr. Wen Yiduo said that King Robin "was born with chivalrous spirit, meddlesome, keen on killing, revenge and revolution, and helping spoony women break their hearts" (Poem of Palace Complaints).
