The cool breeze is blowing, the autumn moon is boundless,
I feel like a child, and my days are like years,
Although I am not a jade tree facing the wind, I am unrestrained and suave,
But I have a broad mind and strong arms!
The cool breeze is blowing, the autumn moon is boundless,
I miss you so much that my days are like years,
Although I am not shy of the flowers when I close the moon, and the fish and the geese fall away,

But I have a broad mind to experience joys and sorrows with you!
The most popular song of the 1920s and 1930s, "Autumn Regret on a Passenger's Journey", has the first few lines: "The cool breeze has faith, the autumn moon is boundless, and because of my love complex, it feels like the days are like years."
"Autumn Regret on a Passenger Journey" was originally a Cantonese ancient Nanyin song. It was later adapted into a Cantonese opera by screenwriter Huang Shaoba. Huang Qie attached the male lead to Miao Lianxian, the female lead to Mai Qiujuan, and others were included in the play. Other historical figures include Qian Jiang, Chen Kai, Xu Guangjin, Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, etc.
The best actor in this drama was Bai Jurong, a famous actor at the time, who played the role of Miao Lianxian, a young student.
The play was later adapted into a Cantonese opera, and was sung by Bai Coral and became well-known in the streets.
White Coral was originally a singer in Shek Tong Tsui. She was not allowed to live in her husband's family after she was good. She was accused of "evil flowers entering the house", so she made a living by singing in the singing circle after being kicked out. She was best at singing banben songs, and she was especially good at imitating the singing styles of three popular Cantonese opera opera bosses, Liang Shaofeng, Bai Jurong and Ma Shitsang.
Before the rise of television, the Cantonese opera music scene was the most popular form of entertainment in Hong Kong society. The sentence "The cool breeze has faith, the autumn moon is boundless" is no less than today's "East wind breaks". When you open your mouth, everyone can pick up the next sentence.
However, Miao Lianxian was born during the Qianlong and Daoguang reigns, and "Autumn Hate on a Passenger's Journey" also involves the British bombardment of Guangzhou during the Second Opium War.
