Reflections on Togo
After putting the children to bed last night, my husband and I slept on the sofa and watched a great movie Togo together.

This is based on a true story. Synopsis:1In the winter of 925, diphtheria suddenly broke out in a small town in Alaska, USA. This disease, which is now almost extinct by vaccination, was a deadly killer at that time, especially for children with high morbidity and mortality. The life-saving diphtheria serum is 1084 km away.

At that time, it was a cold winter, the snow closed the mountain, the traffic was closed, and the plane could not come because of the abnormal weather. The local terrain is also extremely complicated, and only sled dogs are allowed to pass. In order to get serum and save sick children, the local government had to choose sled dogs to transport serum across the polar regions.

So a relay team consisting of 20 sled drivers and 150 sled dogs was formed and went to the hospital more than 1000 kilometers away to perform this life-saving task. They need to trek day and night, across rivers, across plains, through forests and frozen roads. Generally speaking, it takes 25 days for dogs to pull sleds in this trip. In the end, it took them only five and a half days to complete the relay race with death, successfully cleared the blood back and saved the children's lives.

Togo, the protagonist of the film, is 12 years old and is a guide dog used by one of the sled drivers. He is witty and brave, good at running and extremely tenacious in vitality. The owner of Togo, the sled team, has to undertake the most difficult and dangerous journey in this life-saving feat. The woman advised the man: it's too difficult this time. Togo is too old to go. If you depend on it too much, it will die. But the owner finally chose to take Togo on the road because it is the most experienced leading dog among all sled dogs. Togo replaced the owner's eyes and ears in the extremely cold environment of MINUS 30 degrees and strong winds above magnitude 7. After all the difficulties and fatigue, it almost killed Xue Hai. In the end, they completed a distance of 425 kilometers, while other 19 teams transported an average of 50 kilometers.

However, after completing the relay, Togo and his master were betrayed by other relay personnel and took all the honors.

At first, I thought Togo would die because of this mission, but in the end, it showed amazing vitality, still accompanied his host and hostess for 2 years, and gave birth to many descendants, becoming the oldest.

A century has passed, but this legendary sled dog and his story have been forgotten by history. It was not until 20 1 1 that Time magazine reported this story again. The sled dog named Togo is known as the most heroic animal in the 20th century!

I really sweated for Togo when I watched the movie. I'm worried about it and my master's comfort. I'm afraid it will die of overwork, so I don't have the courage to continue reading.

The extraordinary affection between people and dogs is undoubtedly the place that touches me the most. There are many movies with themes, such as Hachi: A Dog's Story and A Dog's Purpose. A person may have many pets in his life, but a dog only recognizes one owner in his life.

As Togo's owner said at the end of the film: I always thought Togo was born for sledges, but in the end it was always born for me.
