Examine your thoughts, words and deeds in your mind. Confucianism has attached great importance to this inner moral cultivation since Confucius. Confucius asked people to "introspect" and "talk about themselves". Mencius' introspection is called "intentional" and also called "seeking reassurance". Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties inherited Confucius and Mencius' "introspection" cultivation method. Cheng Yi's cultivation methods are "sincere respect", "harmony" and "gathering righteousness". Wang Shouren is "for conscience". Confucianism requires people to use all kinds of thoughts and behaviors required by this set of morality. Generally speaking, this is a method of cultivating idealism, and its fundamental defect lies in its disconnection from practice and people's life. But there are also some reasonable factors, such as emphasizing the importance of training, giving full play to people's subjective initiative in training, and paying attention to training methods.
It means that well-trained observers pay close attention to their feelings, identify them accurately and report them as objectively as possible.
