1. Viewing the Sea
Han Dynasty: Cao Cao
To the east is Jieshi to view the sea.
Where is the water? The mountains and islands are standing tall.
There are many trees and lush grass.
The autumn wind is bleak and the waves are rising.
The journey of the sun and the moon can only come out of it;
The stars are shining brightly, as if they can come out of it.
Fortunately, I sing to express my ambition.
Translation:
Go east and climb the tall Jieshi Mountain to view the vast sea. The sea is so vast and vast, with mountains and islands standing tall and tall in the sea. The surrounding trees are lush and the flowers and plants are luxuriant. There was a bleak wind, the vegetation was shaking, and huge waves were rolling in the sea. The sun and moon rise and set as if emanating from this vast ocean.
The brilliant stars in the Milky Way also seem to emerge from the embrace of the sea. I am very happy and use this poem to express my inner ambition. Ah, so lucky! Just use poetry to express your inner aspirations.
2. Although the tortoise has a long life
Han Dynasty: Cao Cao
Although the tortoise has a long life, it still has its time.
The tan snake rides on the mist and turns into ashes in the end.
The old man is brave and ambitious.
The martyrs are full of ambition in their old age.
The period of profit and contraction is not only in the sky.
Nurture the blessings of happiness and enjoy eternal life.
Fortunately, I sing to express my ambition.
Translation:
Although the turtle can live a long life, there is a time when it will die. Although the tan snake can fly in the fog, it will eventually die and turn into ashes. The old horse lies in the stable, its ambition is still to be able to gallop a thousand miles.
When people with lofty ideals reach their old age, their ambition to make progress will not stop. The length of human life is not just determined by God. As long as you take good care of your body and mind, you can live longer. Ah, so lucky! Just use poetry to express your inner aspirations!
3. Winter in October
Han Dynasty: Cao Cao
In the tenth month of winter, the north wind lingers, the weather is clear, and there is frost and rain.
The rooster crows in the morning, the wild geese fly south, the grebes hide, and the bears roost in caves.
The money is parked, the farmers harvest and the fields are accumulated, and the reverse brigade is set up to facilitate merchants.
Fortunately! Sing to express your ambition.
Translation:
In early winter and October, the north wind blows, the atmosphere is chilly, the weather is cold, and the frost is thick and dense. The pheasants are chirping in the early morning, the geese are heading south, the birds of prey are hiding, and even the bears are sleeping in their caves.
The farmers have put down their farm tools and no longer work. The harvested crops are piled up in the grain fields, and the hotels are being arranged to accommodate the traveling merchants. How lucky I am to be here, reciting poetry to express my feelings.
4. The soil is different
Han Dynasty: Cao Cao
The soil is different, and it is the middle of winter in Heshuo.
The currents are floating and it is difficult for boats to move.
The cone cannot penetrate the ground, and the wormwood is profound.
The water will not flow if it is exhausted, and the ice will be solid enough to walk on.
A scholar is a hermit and is poor, while a brave knight takes the blame lightly.
The heart often sighs and complains, and is filled with sadness.
Fortunately! Sing to express your ambition.
Translation:
The countryside here is very different from the land south of the Yellow River. In late winter, ice blocks floated in the river, making it difficult for boats to move forward. The ground was so frozen that even an awl could not be pierced into it, and the fields were barren and overgrown with dry and thick vines and wormwood. The river is frozen and does not flow. It is covered with hard ice and people can walk on it.
The knowledgeable people are poor, but the brave and aggressive people do not care about breaking the law at will. I sighed and resented it, and my heart was filled with sorrow and sorrow. I am so lucky to express my thoughts and feelings through singing.
5. Yan
Han Dynasty: Cao Cao
The clouds move like rain, surpassing the Gao River in Jiujiang.
Looking at the similarities and differences, I feel hesitant and don’t know what to do?
Passing by Jieshi, I feel melancholy in the East China Sea.
Translation:
The original intention was to conquer Jingzhou in the south and benefit the people in Jiangnan.
Faced with the two different opinions on the Northern Expedition and the Southern Expedition, he hesitated and didn't know what to do.
After arriving at Jieshi, I felt even more sad when I saw the oppression suffered by the people.
