Everyone has the responsibility to protect the environment. The following points are suggestions for protecting the environment:
1. Do not cut down trees indiscriminately and do not destroy natural resources at will.
2. Try to save paper and do not throw unused notebooks into the trash can.
3. Turn off the faucet tightly and learn to waste a drop of tap water.
4. Try not to use disposable chopsticks.
5. Do not litter everywhere, especially used batteries and plastic bags.
6. Do not pollute water resources, do not pour dirty water, wastewater and toxic substances into the river, and protect small life in the water.
7. Turn off the power supply whenever possible, and do not turn on lights, TVs and other household appliances when people are away, and try to save every kilowatt hour of electricity.
8. Do not catch or kill wild animals indiscriminately, and live in harmony with animals and plants.
Environmental protection is due to the serious environmental pollution caused by industrial development, which first attracted the attention of industrialized countries. National laws and regulations and public opinion propaganda are used to make the whole society pay attention to and deal with pollution problems.
In 1963, American biologist Rachel Carson published a book called "Silent Spring", which explained the environmental pollution and pollution caused by the pesticide DDT (DDT). Due to the book's warnings, the U.S. government began investigating the issue of highly toxic pesticides and established the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970. States have also successively passed laws prohibiting the production and use of highly toxic pesticides. This book is considered the iconic starting point of environmental ecology in the 20th century.
