For two years in a row, he was rated as an excellent student and an excellent league member. Shao Xiaoli cares about her classmates and is ready to help others. She sewed bedding for 44 classmates: when her classmates were sick, she took the initiative to send medicine and water; In the dormitory, competing for water and cleaning, her dormitory is a "civilized and polite" dormitory; She also often helps backward students, and her class has been praised by the college many times.

Shao Xiaoli often helps others outside school as well as inside school. In mid-July, 1981, she was admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Medical College due to skin diseases. When she learned that a patient needed fresh rice for treatment, she went to dozens of miles away in the rain to buy 4 kilograms of rice and sent it to the patient's home. In March, 1982, she walked with Guo Liya in the hospital, and suddenly she found a five-or six-year-old child crossing the road, and a car galloped in. At this critical juncture, Shao Xiaoli ran to the child and held her in her arms, thus avoiding an accident. On the morning of June 17th, 1982, three primary school students from Xianyang Textile Machinery Factory were playing in the water by the Youth Lake in Weiyang Weibin Park. A little girl named Shao Ping accidentally slipped and fell into the lake. Two other children shouted, "Help! Save people! " The cry alarmed Shao Xiaoli, who was studying by the lake. As soon as she saw that the child was about to be submerged, she jumped into the water without hesitation, grabbed Shao Ping, lifted the water surface and pushed it to the shore. However, the slope of the lake was slippery with moss. She pushed the child to the shore several times, and when she saw that she was about to go ashore, she slipped down again. She couldn't swim and couldn't stand still in the water, so she tried her best but still couldn't push it ashore. At this time, with the help of workers Jiao Yudong and Zhang Junjie, the child was rescued ashore. The child was saved, but Shao Xiaoli sank to the bottom of the lake because he tried his best and could not support it. Yang Laifu, a migrant worker who was working in the park, jumped into the water and rescued Shao Xiaoli from the shore with everyone. However, he died gloriously because he drowned for too long and the rescue was ineffective. He was 22 years old.

In June of the same year, Shaanxi Provincial Committee of CPC made the Decision on Learning from Comrade Shao Xiaoli. Ratify Shao Xiaoli as * * * party member. The provincial government approved him as a revolutionary martyr and erected a monument at the Youth Lake in Weibin Park to commemorate him.
