China has been a big agricultural country for thousands of years. This kind of history has created the rural nature of China society. Historically, most people in China were engaged in agricultural production, so our nation and soil are inseparable. People who live directly from agriculture stick to the land, and their geographical position changes little. This is different from nomadic people and people who are mainly industrial.
Some people begin to miss their hometown a few days after they leave home. This kind of emotion will disappear temporarily because of the busy day, but it often comes from the bottom of my heart with the night wind. Every day on the way to "school", I count people's hurried steps and think that these people have returned home and enjoyed their family life.
But I can only look at a bright moon and miss my hometown and the people I love. Maybe only the moon can feel this feeling. Even if you are free and easy as a wanderer, you will always be homesick, because the job is frequently transferred, and the farther you leave your hometown, the deeper you miss your hometown.
Just like many traditional festivals in China, they all have the connotation of homesickness reunion: Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival, Spring Festival and Lantern Festival. Leaving home is like a child leaving his mother's arms and going to a different place. Even if I have a good time, I will go home during the Spring Festival. My hometown is the home of wanderers.
This is especially true in modern society. With the increasing gap between urban and rural areas, those who go out to work, those who stay in big cities with high education, those who go abroad for further study, and those who are sent on business trips abroad will feel homesick as long as they leave their hometown. I didn't know the beauty of my hometown until I left, and I felt lonely when I left.
Many wanderers thousands of miles away, no matter whether they have money or not, have to go home for the New Year. Mid-Autumn Festival, like Spring Festival, is an important festival for China people to look forward to family reunion. They make money through various efforts, so that they can buy a plane ticket home at the end of the year and have a reunion dinner with their long-lost family.
The New Year's Eve dinner on this festival is so unusual. You can let the overseas prodigal son travel halfway around the world, and spend a year's savings just for a Spring Festival reunion, and return to a familiar country and hometown. Hometown is our homesick home.
