Introduction to Muradin Bronzebeard

Muradin Bronzebeard

Muradin Bronzebeard is one of the characters in the background story of Blizzard's "Warcraft" series of games and appears in "Warcraft 3". Muradin was the second of the famous three brothers: his elder brother Magni was the king of Khaz Modan, and his younger brother Brann was a famous explorer. Muradin Bronzebeard served as Ironforge's ambassador to Lordaeron during the Second War, which is why the alliance between the two peoples is so strong. Muradin, during his stay in Lordaeron, met Prince Arthas, the young son of King Terenas. Arthas was a talented young man, and Muradin taught him his mastery of the sword. Muradin and his brother Brienne founded a group called the Explorers' Society, through which he hoped to expand the dwarves' knowledge of surrounding lands, perhaps as far away as ancient Kalimdor. One of Muradin's adventures took him to the icy hell of Northrend. There, he began his search for a cursed sword called Frostmourne. However, he was surrounded by a large army of undead and forced to retreat. Under heavy attack, he found himself rescued by his old friend Alsace. However, Arthas came here bent on revenge and determined to destroy the demon, Mal'genes. After being helped, the great lord was eager to help Alsace. But after clearing out the base of the undead and the lich who led them, there was still no trace of Mal'genis. Soon, news came from Lordaeron, and Terenas ordered Arthas and his troops to return. When his men heard the news, they quickly sailed back to Lordaeron. Lost Alsace ordered all ships burned. Although Muradin felt this was a bit extreme, he agreed to recruit mercenaries from the area to aid him. However, once the ships were burned, Arthas betrayed his new allies and had them killed by his own men. Muradin was agitated and rebuked him for his treachery. But Alsace had made a desperate move. He went with Muradin to find Frostmourne. After defeating the guards and finding Frostmourne, Muradin read the inscription, telling him it was a cursed sword, and prepared to leave. But Arthas didn't care. He walked to the base and took out the sword. The sword exploded from its icy prison, sending flying fragments knocking Muradin unconscious. Arthas then picked up the cursed sword Frostmourne and abandoned the good part of his soul forever.
