Take Buffett as an example.
After graduating from college, Buffett returned to his hometown and worked in Buffett-Falk securities brokerage company run by his father. The biggest gain is not in investment, but in listening to Dale Carnegie's public speaking art class and learning the speaking skills.
After class, Buffett further honed this skill by teaching "Investment Principles" at Omaha University every night. The textbook he used was the book Smart Investor by his teacher Graham. Most of the students are 30-40-year-old doctors, while Buffett only has 2 1, which naturally causes their disdain and snickering.
But it was in this class that Buffett gradually won the respect and admiration of his classmates with full emotion, rich knowledge and accurate expression. He said a well-known saying:
Let me tell you the secret of getting rich on Wall Street. (pause) Close the door. When others are afraid, you should become greedy; When others are greedy, you should be afraid.
A few years later, Buffett spoke in public in Kan Kan, which undoubtedly benefited from his early speech training. At Berkshire's annual shareholders' meeting, as well as other large and small meetings, Buffett can deliver a vivid speech extemporaneously, and it is so vivid, concise and fascinating that people will suspect that he has drafted the manuscript in advance. It can be seen that speaking skills are very helpful for Buffett to become an excellent investor and entrepreneur.
No matter what industry you are in, it is very important to study public speaking hard as long as you are interested in going to the decision-making level of the company.
