Tao always does nothing and does everything. If the marquis can keep it, everything will take care of itself. -Tao Te Ching. Chapter 37 "
"Tao" always does nothing, but it all comes from its actions. If the marquis can keep it, everything will be self-contained.
Laozi found that the performance of "Tao" when it acts on everything is "doing nothing and doing nothing". "inaction" is to conform to the laws of existence of all things, that is, each is in its place. "Doing nothing" means believing in the nature and endowment of all things, that is, keeping their own ways. As the ruler of a country, if you can keep "worldly wisdom", everything will be self-educated and endless.
Zhuangzi also expressed the same understanding on the practical application of "the way of doing nothing" for many times. He said in the article "Zhuangzi Tianxia", "The ancient beast is the master of the world, and the world is full of desires, and everything is done without doing anything. When will the people be quiet?" This means that the rulers who raised the world in ancient times had no pursuit, and the world was rich, but everything was self-taught, deep and quiet, and the people were stable.
It should be noted here that what Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi say about "nothing to pursue" and "nothing to do" does not mean nothing to do. Instead, we should get rid of the "lewdness" beyond the natural nature and respect the inherent nature and endowment of people and everything. It conveys a heartfelt awe of the laws of nature and a natural trust in the universe.
In order to achieve "governing by doing nothing", people need to maintain inner peace first, which is what Zhuangzi said earlier: "Peace is deep and people's hearts are stable". After calming down, we will be free from impetuousness and interference from foreign objects and return to the essence of freedom, that is, "take your places."
Stay in your place, and you'll know. If you live and grow according to the law of freedom, your personal potential will be revealed, that is, "keep your own way." In real life, it is not easy to "go their own way".
Su Dongbo's poem "Donglan Pear Blossom" is particularly good. "Pear blossoms are pale and Bai Liu is dark green, and willows are full of flowers. A snow in Donglan, life is clear. "
Su Shi said that peach blossom powder was gorgeous and Liu Xufei was sought after by people. Only Donglan pear flower, an independent flower, stands proudly as snow, sticks to a corner and does not envy prosperity. Isn't it because of its inherent clarity?
For Dongpo, this is a return to self-mind, and a clear concern for life. If this "Dongzhu Snow" stays in our hearts, whether it is a "saint" or you and me, we can all be quiet and sober, we can all stick to "inaction is the foundation of freedom", and we can all realize the self-cultivation of everything.
So are saints, so are you and me, and so are children. In family education, parents' inaction is not only to keep their parents' position, but also to respect and trust their children's position. First of all, strive to grow up and provide a loving family emotional space for children.
Respect children's nature and endowment, and trust children to be responsible for their own life growth. After children get deep growth, they can not only be happy and share their sense of accomplishment, but also feedback their inner efforts and return to their positions in time.
On the way to accompany your children to grow up, you are ready to put your mind on "A Snow in the East Column" and experience "a clear life".
Parents walk with their children in the world.
