Confucius played the piano
As we all know, Confucius was a great educator, but he was also a musician, who could sing, play the piano and compose music. When he sings with others, if the other person sings well, he will definitely ask him to sing it again, listening attentively, and then join in with him again. His educational policy is not to cultivate some idiots who study hard, but to cultivate all-round talents.
Confucius once studied piano with Shi Xiang. One day, Shi Xiang gave him a piece of music and asked him to practice it by himself. He practiced it for more than ten days and still had no intention of stopping. Unable to stop himself, he said, "You can change the tune and practice it." Confucius replied, "Although I am familiar with its tune, I have not yet figured out its rules." After a while, Shi Xiang said again: "You have figured out its rules. You can change the music and practice it." Unexpectedly, Confucius replied, "I haven't realized its musical image yet." After another period of time, Shi Xiang found that Confucius had a solemn expression and a healthy body, as if he had changed his appearance. This time, without waiting for Shi Xiang to ask questions, Kong Liao said first: "I have already realized the image of music. He is dark, tall, and has far-reaching eyes. He seems to have the air of a king. This person must be King Wen." Shi Xiang listened. Well, he was shocked because the song happened to be called "Wen Wang Cao" and he had not told Confucius beforehand.
Confucius can also be said to be a first-class music connoisseur. According to legend, "Shao" is a music and dance from the time of Yao and Shun. Confucius never had the opportunity to listen to it in the state of Lu. Later, he heard it at a palace banquet in the state of Qi. Finally enjoying it, Confucius was completely fascinated by this solemn music, so much so that he didn't know the taste of meat in March, and said: "It's not just for fun, it's like this."
Judging people by their appearance
Confucius had many disciples, one of whom was named Zaiyu, who was eloquent and eloquent. He had a good impression on Confucius at first, but then gradually the truth was revealed: he was neither benevolent nor very lazy; he did not read or listen to lectures during the day, and slept in bed. For this reason, Confucius called him "a rotten tree that cannot be carved." Another disciple of Confucius was called Tantai Mieming, whose courtesy name was Ziyu. He was from Lu and was thirty-nine years younger than Confucius. Ziyu was ugly in body and appearance and wanted to serve Confucius. Confucius began to think that he had low qualifications and would never become a talent. But after he studied as a teacher, he devoted himself to the practice of self-cultivation when he returned home. He dealt with things honestly and did not go astray. He never went to meet with ministers or officials unless it was for official business. Later, Ziyu traveled to the Yangtze River. There were 300 disciples who followed him. His reputation was very high, and his name was recited in all the vassal states. Confucius heard about this and said with emotion: "I judge the quality of a person's quality by words only, but my judgment of Jaeyu is wrong; I judge the quality of a person's quality by his appearance only, and my judgment of Jaeyu is wrong." Yu's judgment was wrong again."
Confucius corrected his mistake
Confucius led Zilu, Zigong, Yan Yuan and other students to travel around the country, giving lectures and preaching. One day, they came to the foot of Quyang Mountain. The teachers and students got off the carriage, with Zigong in front, followed by Confucius, and Zilu, Yan Yuan and other students also followed. Confucius climbed to the top of the mountain with all his strength. When he looked eastward, he saw only water connecting the sky and water connecting the sky. It was boundless as far as the eye could see. It was such a big sea! At this time, there was sudden lightning and thunder in the sky, and a violent storm rushed over. Zilu shouted loudly: "Oh no, no, no, where can we take shelter from the rain!" I saw an old fisherman, holding a fishing net in his left hand, a fishing fork in his right, a fishing basket on his back, and a gourd tied around his waist. They came over and said as they walked: "Don't panic, come with me!"
The old fisherman led Confucius and his students into a cave. This cave faces the sea and is a place where old fishermen hide and stay. Confucius felt that the cave was a little stuffy, so he walked to the entrance of the cave and watched the sea view in the rain. As he watched, he became inspired by poetry and couldn't help but recite: The wind blows the sea... Thousands of waves, the rain hits the beach... Ten thousand holes . After listening to these two lines of poetry, the old fisherman hurriedly said: "Sir, what you said is wrong!" Confucius asked: "Why is it wrong?" The old fisherman said: "'Thousand-layer waves', 'Ten thousand-point pits', neither That's right. Is it true that there are only a thousand waves in the sea and there are exactly ten thousand beaches? "Sir, have you ever counted it?" Confucius was interested in hearing the advice and asked hurriedly: "Brother, how do you think it should be changed?" : "It's better to change it to this: 'The wind blows the sea water into layers of waves, and the rain hits the beach with holes.' The waves are layered with holes, and there are countless holes. This is reasonable. Right?"
< p>When Confucius heard this, he was convinced and was about to say a few words of praise. Unexpectedly, Zi Lu became angry at the side and said to the old fisherman: "Hey, a saint wrote a poem, how can you change it randomly!" The old fisherman also got angry and shouted sternly. He asked, "Who is the sage?" Zilu pointed at Confucius and said, "Far away in the horizon, close before our eyes. This is Confucius, the sage of Confucius!" Confucius stopped him and said, "Zilu, don't be arrogant! Don't be rude!" The old fisherman He patted Zilu on the shoulder and said, "Young man, a sage may have the knowledge of a sage, but he may not be better than others in everything!" Confucius gathered the students together and said seriously: "I have told you about life before. And know it, this is wrong! Everyone should remember: knowing is knowing, not knowing is not knowing, it is knowing!" After saying this, he recited a small poem: When you climb a mountain and look at the sea, the barrier suddenly opens, if the sage is wrong. , that is, don’t hesitate. From then on, the people in the mountain changed the name of Quyang Mountain to Kongwang Mountain.Afterlife is scary
When Confucius was traveling, he met three children. Two of them were playing, while the other child was standing nearby. Confucius felt strange and asked the standing child why he didn't play with everyone else.
The child answered seriously: "Intense fighting can hurt people's lives, and pulling and pulling can also hurt people's bodies. To say the least, tearing clothes will not do any good. So I don't want to play with them. Play. What's so surprising about this?" After a while, the child built a castle with dirt and sat in it. He did not come out for a long time and did not give way to Confucius who was about to leave. Confucius couldn't help but ask again: "You are sitting inside, why don't you give way to the cars?" "I only heard that the cars have to go around the city, but I have never heard that the castle has to avoid the cars!" The child said. Confucius was very surprised and felt that It was really amazing that such a young child could speak so well, so he praised him and said, "You know so much at such a young age." The child replied, "I heard people say that when a fish is born, You can swim in three days, a rabbit can run in the fields in three days after it is born, a horse can walk with the mare in three days after it is born, these are all natural things, what is the big or small thing?" Confucius couldn't help but sigh. He said: "Okay, now I know how great young people are!"
Haste makes waste
Zixia was a student of Confucius. One year, Zixia was imprisoned. He was sent to Jufu (now Juxian County, Shandong Province) as a local official. Before leaving, he went to visit his teacher and asked Confucius for advice: "Excuse me, how can you govern a place well?" " Confucius said to Zixia very enthusiastically: "Governing a place is a very complicated matter. However, as long as you grasp the fundamentals, it is very simple. " Confucius explained to Zixia some things that should be paid attention to, and then repeatedly told him: "There is no desire for haste, and there is no small gain. If you want haste, you will not achieve anything; if you see small gains, you will not achieve great things. "The meaning of this passage is: Don't simply pursue speed when doing things, and don't be greedy for small profits. Simply pursuing speed without focusing on effects will fail to achieve the goal; if you only focus on immediate small profits and don't care about long-term benefits, you won't be able to accomplish anything big. Zixia said that he must follow the teacher's instructions, and said goodbye to Confucius and went to office. Later, "Haste makes waste" was passed down as a proverb, and it was often used to explain that being too hasty will be counterproductive and will not achieve what is achieved. Purpose.
Enter the Hall
Confucius, a great thinker, politician and educator in ancient my country, recruited more than 3,000 disciples in more than 40 years of running the school. There are 72 famous disciples. Zilu said to Confucius, "I am like a straight bamboo pole. I am born to be a good arrow. Why should I study?" The book has knowledge, just like putting feathers on the tail of a bamboo arrow and a sharp metal head on the front, so that the arrow is more useful. Zi Lu heard that Confucius was very reasonable, so he worshiped Confucius as his teacher. Confucius played the harp at home. He was very brave, and the sound he made was full of murderous intent. Confucius advocated "benevolence" and "the golden mean". Naturally, he felt that the sound was not peaceful and he was dissatisfied. "Why?" Do you want to play the harp at my house?" After hearing what the teacher said, Confucius' disciples figured out that this was a bad comment the teacher made about Zilu playing the harp. His view of Zilu suddenly changed, and his words were somewhat disrespectful. Confucius After knowing it, he explained to everyone: "Zi Lu's ability to play the harp has been in the hall, but he has not yet entered the inner room. He has achieved certain achievements, but he has not reached a profound level.
