Lu Opera, also known as disguised dulcimer and Shaanxi Opera, is a national intangible cultural heritage. It is one of the eight major operas in China and the most representative local opera in Shandong. Popular in most areas of Shandong University and parts of Jiangsu, Anhui and Northeast provinces. It originated in the Yellow River Delta in the northeast of Shandong Province and evolved from Qin Shu, Shandong Province.
Its music belongs to banqiang, and it also sings Qupai. The main accompaniment instruments are harpsichord (main string), dulcimer, sanxian and pipa, which are collectively called "four major pieces of Lu Opera".
