Li Si, the originator of Xiao Zhuan, was born in Shangcai (now Shangcai County, Henan Province) during the Warring States Period. Later, he became an official of the A Qin Dynasty. Together with Zhao Gao and others, he formulated the regular script and seal script of Qin Dynasty. The Yishan Monument, which exists in the forest of steles in An, is his book, copied in the Song Dynasty. Most of the stone carvings in the book have been destroyed. There are only two original stones left in the world.
Li is a representative figure in the Tang Dynasty, and his works include the Monument to the Town God Temple.
Contemporary representative seal writers include Qi Baishi, Xiao Tui 'an, Huang, Lai Chusheng, Lu, Pan Zhulan,, Shaman Weng, Xu, Qiu Gaochi, Cong Wenjun, Zhu Gong, Wang Youyi and Liu Yantao.
