First, there is no monarch. Gao believes that the emperors of the Ming Dynasty all had some special and strange hobbies, and some emperors were cruel. The representative of Ming Taizu was Zhu Yuanzhang, the Ming Emperor, who died after he acceded to the throne. Some emperors ignored state affairs for decades and competed with Emperor Jiajing and Emperor Wanli. The most wonderful emperor is Emperor Mingxi. He is unpatriotic and just wants to be a carpenter. But in fact, several emperors in the Ming Dynasty were diligent, such as Emperor Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty. He ascended the throne for more than ten years, worked hard to save the Ming Dynasty every day, and finally died for his country.
Second, the unknown general. Gao believes that in the late Ming Dynasty, civil servants were basically in charge of state affairs. Whether the Qing army attacked the Ming Dynasty or the Li Zicheng Uprising, civil servants were dealing with it, and there was a lack of military commanders who could lead troops to fight. In fact, Yuan Chonghuan, Hong Chengchou and others are also famous. Although they were all scholars before, they finally abandoned literature and joined the army, but they still made contributions to the army.
Third, there are no celebrities. Gao believes that there were no particularly famous literati in the Ming Dynasty. For example, there were many great poets in the Tang Dynasty, such as Li Bai and Du Fu, and there were many famous literati in the Song Dynasty, leaving many famous poems, but there was no art in the Ming Dynasty. But in fact, there are many outstanding literati in the Ming Dynasty, such as the four great talents in the south of the Yangtze River, Wang Yangming and so on. Many novels in the Ming Dynasty have been passed down to this day.
