The founders of AMG are Hans Werner Aufrecht and Eberhard Melcher. Before AMG was founded, Aufrecht and Melcher both worked in Mercedes-Benz, responsible for developing straight six engines for Mercedes-Benz 300 SE racing car, 1965. At that time, Mercedes-Benz launched the latest in-line six-cylinder racing engine, with a maximum power of 238 horsepower, which was loaded on the car of the German RV race and won the championship in one fell swoop.
Extended data:
Mercedes-Benz AMG is a family of Mercedes-Benz cars. In the research and development of high-performance vehicles, the classic works launched by AMG in the 1990s include C 36 AMG, E 50 AMG, C 43 AMG and various versions of "55" series after Mercedes-Benz 1997.
At first, AMG was just a small company in the town of Burgstall, specializing in designing and testing racing engines. Of course, it also engages in some private modification business. There is an interesting story. It is said that 1968, the company has just been established. At that time, a customer came to the city where AMG was located from Kilmin, Germany, and found that AMG was little known.
1976, AMG's small factory scale could not meet its growing demand, so more than 40 employees of AMG moved to Affalterbach together, leaving only the original racing engine department.
