Stevie Wonder, formerly known as Steveland Judkins, was born on May 13, 1950, in a black family in Sag-inaw, Michigan, USA. Stevie, who was born prematurely, was put into an incubator right after he was born, but due to excessive oxygen supply in the incubator, he bid farewell to the world forever. Stevie Wonder can be regarded as a "genius singer". He learned to play the harmonica at the age of 4, and started learning piano at the age of 11. He can play more than 10 instruments and has a good voice. In 1963, he shocked the entire music world with his song "Figertips" which topped the singles charts for three weeks.
In his singing career of more than 20 years, he has won many enviable honors with his talents, including 17 Grammy Awards and 1 Oscar for Best Movie Song. Since the mid-1960s, Stevie has released many masterpieces, most of which are love songs, such as "I Was Mode To Love Her" expressing pure love, "Never Had A Dream Come True" and "Signed, Seal-ed Delivered I'm". Yours", the latter was the first album he participated in the production of, after which he released his first album, all of which he personally managed. In 1971, Stevie devoted himself to studying two synthetic instruments, Aip and Moog, and used his knowledge in the album "Masic Of My Mind", achieving good results. In 1972, he released "Superstition" which won enthusiastic response from "black and white music fans". After that, Stevie successively released albums "Talking Book" and "Innervision", in which he tried a variety of music styles, such as the Latin style "Don't You Worry About A Thing". In 1974, the massively produced "Fulfilling Ness' Fir-st Finale" was released. "Songs in the of Life", released in 1976, stayed at the top of the charts for 14 weeks, which is a miracle in the music industry.
In the 1980s, Stevie was keen on politics and charity activities. He launched the album Hotter Than July, which, like his social activities, is hotter than July. The style of this album is a new attempt, using African and Caribbean music. Through continuous hard work, Stevie Wonder finally showed his talent and became a versatile "national figure" unanimously recognized in the American music scene.
When Stevie Wonder started recording in 1962, he was only 11 years old. Although at the time there was no indication of the depth of his talent, it was already obvious. After all, music is this astonishingly gifted child's job. Soon, Stevie Wonder became famous for his Fingertips. Two years later, he became one of Motown's best artists, recording a series of brilliant singles. During this time, his album was like any other Motown album, a combination of a greatest hits single and some enjoyable songs. Only Wonder was allowed to occasionally record songs that reflected his own growing social consciousness. For example, he played Bob Dylan's hit "Blowin' in the Wind." By the late 1960s, not only were his own records on the hit charts, but he also had many other Motown artists providing a lot of songs and material. Includes the Spinners' "It's a Shame" and "The Tears of a Clown," co-written with Smokey Robinson.
With his creativity skyrocketing, Wonder soon began to feel constrained by Motown's demanding production and distribution contract. When his contract expired in 1971, Wonder recorded two records on his own and used them as a tool to negotiate his contract with Motown. These two records gave him maximum artistic control over his albums and his own songs. Shortly thereafter, the two albums Where I'm Coming From and Music of My Mind were released.
Music of My Mind, in particular, played a role in creating a new era of soul music. Along with Sly Stone and Marvin Gaye, Wonder is not only conscientiously producing soul albums, not only collecting singles, but also working persistently to express his artistic style. On his next two albums, Talking Book and Innervisions, Wonder became increasingly complex and inventive. In addition to his musical innovations, Wonder, like many other pop singers, has published his eloquent and fiery lyrics in social and racial publications. Wonder remained at his creative peak with 1974's Fulfillingness' First Finale and 1976's Songs in the Key of Life.
Three years later, he released the bewildering Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants, which was met with terrible reviews. In 1980, Wonder released the more outspoken Hotter than July, which received better reviews and became his first platinum album. However, for the next ten years, he could not maintain this situation. Although his records were selling well and he occasionally scored a few hits, including "I Just Called to Say I Love You," his records were no longer as popular as they had been a decade ago. In the 1990s, although he was still a great musician, his music was no longer popular. Steve hit the music scene again in 2005 with the critically acclaimed "A Time To Love", for which he won the 48th Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance!
