Article 17 Original documents and copies

a. Each document specified in the letter of credit must be submitted at least An original copy.

b. The bank shall treat as an original document any document bearing what appears to be the original signature, mark, stamp or label of the issuer, unless the document itself indicates that it is not an original.

c. Unless otherwise stated in the document itself, the bank will also regard it as an original document under the following circumstances:

i. The document appears to be handwritten, typed, or handwritten by the issuer. Perforated or stamped: or

ii. The document appears to be issued on the issuer's original stationery: or

iii. The document states that it is an original document, unless the statement does not appear to be true. Applies to submitted documents.
