Protect green trees, starting with me: Class 4 (3) Green Protection Team of Shuinan Primary School in Jinyun County: Tian et al. Research topics: People use wooden pencil stationery in their study and life, and analyze the bad consequences. Purpose of investigation: At school, we once heard the teacher say that China is vast and rich in natural resources, but the forest resources are very limited, so we should always pay attention to protecting trees in our life. In our daily life, we already know that we should not use or use less disposable chopsticks and other wooden items. However, we didn't realize that a large number of wooden pencils used for stationery also constituted a waste for tree resources. Therefore, with the help of xu teacher, the members of the Green Team of our 4th (3rd) Squadron decided to investigate the use of wooden pencils. In order to make our investigation more purposeful, we have formulated the following investigation purposes: 1. How did the pencil come from? 2. Why do pencils get the attention of many people? 3. What impact will the widespread use of pencils have on the increasingly poor forest resources in China? 4. What is people's understanding of pencils in life? 5. What should we primary school students do? Investigation process: According to these investigation objectives, five members of our Green Protection Team conducted the following investigation activities: 1. Investigation preparation: set up an investigation activity group. Determine the whole school as the research object. Questionnaire survey, on-the-spot investigation, interview and online inquiry are adopted. Second, the investigation record. 1, questionnaire survey. (1) How are the students using pencils? We made a questionnaire: 1. What pencil do you like to use? A wooden pencil b mechanical pencil c environmental protection pencil 2. Do you often drop pencils? A often b occasionally c does not fall. 3. How many centimeters do you throw away your pencil? () A 5 cm below B 5 cm C 6 cm D 7 cm above 4. Do you often bite pencils? () A often B occasionally C never 5. Do you draw on the table? () A often B occasionally C never. What do you do with the remaining pencils? () A throws away B and keeps C and other 7. How long does it take you to use a pencil? 8. How many pencils do you want to buy each semester? 9. Do you know what material your favorite pencil is made of? 10. What tips do you have to save pencils? (2) Issuing and recycling questionnaires. * * * 256 students were investigated, 250 copies were distributed, 250 copies were recovered and 245 copies were valid. (3) Statistical analysis. After a sample survey of students in our school, we found that about 84% of senior students use mechanical pencil, and about 98% of junior students use wooden pencils. About 64% students drop pencils occasionally, 12% students often drop pencils, and 48% students often or occasionally scribble on the table. It can be seen that they do not pay enough attention to the use of pencils; More than 43% students used more than 20 pencils in a semester, and 84% students stopped using them when they reached 5 cm. Sadly, when asked what to do with the remaining pencils, 50% threw them away and 365,438+0% kept them. Even the students who raised them didn't know what to do, so they finally threw them away. 2. Field trip We conducted a field trip on campus and collected many discarded pencil tips. We can calculate this account: based on a pencil of 15cm, nine pencils are used and three pencils are wasted. There are 65,438+0,500 students in our school. According to the average usage of 0/5 pencils per semester/kloc-,about 22,500 pencils are used every year. According to the previous calculation method, about 7500 pencils were wasted. What a waste! 3. Interview Survey We interviewed the teacher: Q: Teacher, what pencil do you want the students to write with? A: It's good to use wooden pencils, especially for juniors. Writing with a wooden pencil is easy to grasp the weight and write a stroke. Q: What do you think of the waste of pencils? Yes, using wooden pencils wastes so much wood in a year. If only there were other environmentally friendly pencils to replace wood and help students write ... We also interviewed the owner of Qiu Jin stationery store: Q: What is the best selling pencil in your store? Zhonghua brand wooden pencils sell best. Q: How much can I sell in a day? A: I can't say the exact number. There must be thousands. Q: Do you have any environmental protection pencils made of wood? A: At present, we don't have ... (4) According to the information we consulted, China's existing forest area is 65.438+0.34 billion hectares, with a total stock of 65.438+0.01100 million cubic meters, ranking fifth in the world. However, the forest coverage rate is only 13.92%, far below the world average of 27%, ranking 104 in the world. The per capita forest area is 0. 1 1 hectare, and the per capita forest stock is 8.6 cubic meters, which are the world average 1 1.7% and 12.6% respectively, and belong to one of the countries with poor forest resources in the world. However, China is a big exporter of pencils, producing about 6.5 billion wooden pencils every year, but at the cost of 3 million 10-year-old trees falling down, 6,790 hectares of lush forests turned into bare mountains. According to this calculation, let's calculate another account: according to the calculation of 22,500 wooden pencils used by students in our school every year, 10.4 trees fall down and about 235.3 square meters of wood disappear every year. Among them, wasting pencils every year is equivalent to falling down 3.5 trees 10 years old! In this way, the waste of small pencil heads on campus is also very serious. According to our investigation, pencil waste exists not only in our campus, but also in other schools. In this way, discarded pencils can pile up into mountains, but how long can China, where forest resources are getting poorer and poorer, last? The good news is that at this year's two sessions, 1 10,000 paper pencils replaced traditional wooden pencils, saving forest resources. In the just-concluded energy-saving week, a booth was set up for recycling paper and pens, surrounded by people ... Analysis and discussion 1. As a kind of stationery, wooden pencil is an indispensable tool for people, although it is inconspicuous. It has a wide range of uses, drawing, designing drawings, and modifying articles ... no matter our children or adults, we can't do without it. 2. Through investigation, it is found that students must use pencils in their work and study, but they have no consciousness of saving pencils. Although it is realized that saving pencils means saving resources, there is no practical action. Even if you want to refuse to use wooden pencils, there is no way to buy better environmental protection pencils. 5. How can thinking and action avoid excessive waste of pencils and save national resources? We propose: please refuse to use wooden pencils; Don't let go of any pencil head casually; Save your pen and don't scribble; Use blackboard newspapers and classes to carry out publicity and education, and set up red scarf supervision posts to help students develop the habit of saving pens. In addition, through research, we decided to make the waste pencils collected in this activity into environmental protection pencils, so that those short pencil heads can give full play to their functions. And through the form of giving environmental protection pencils to students, we will publicize the methods of saving pencils, so that more students can understand the benefits of saving pencils and participate in our activities with practical actions to contribute to saving the environment. We also suggest and call on manufacturers to learn from foreign manufacturers, stop the production of wooden pencils, produce more environmentally friendly pencils and save resources. 5. Harvest and experience: Through this survey, we have learned a lot: 1. Before this survey, we didn't realize the harm of using wooden pencils at all. Everyone thought it was a very common thing. However, through this survey, we learned that the use of wooden pencils indirectly destroyed the forest resources in China, so our team decided to start from ourselves and reduce the use of wooden pencils in the future. In our daily study and life, we can do many things to protect trees, such as saving paper. Many of our classmates always waste paper, fold it into a plane and throw it away. If we can start from the little things in life, we can certainly protect our trees and protect our environment. 3. We also decided to carry out some corresponding environmental protection activities to protect our limited forest resources and let more people realize the importance of protecting green. The specific idea is as follows: (1) Carry out a series of activities with the theme of "protecting green homes". (2) Design a small homepage of "Protecting Green Homes" to call on more people to care, love and create green. (3) Carry out the signature activity of "Protecting Green Homes" to make more students realize that we should start from the small things around us and protect our environment. (4) Carry out the "Farewell to Wooden Pencils" initiative, read our proposal and post it on campus, so that students can appreciate the enlightenment brought by wooden pencils. (5) Set up more environmental protection groups and publicize them in communities and streets every holiday. (6) Every team member will actively plant trees in the future to add more green to our lives. Through this survey, we further understand the significance and importance of "protecting the environment". Through investigation, we also learned a lot of extracurricular knowledge and the present situation and facts of environmental protection in China. The ancients said, "Don't do it because it's small, don't do it because it's small." Similarly, don't neglect wasting a pencil because it is small. Economy is a fashion advocated by the whole society. Let's join hands, save wood pencils, use less wood pencils, start from childhood, start from me and protect green trees! Recently, I came across a story about "a 50-cent coin" on TV. A female traffic policeman is standing in the middle of the road to direct the work. Suddenly, a beautiful little girl walked up to her calmly and sincerely, handed her a 50-cent coin lost by others, and sincerely hoped to find the owner. As a result, the policewoman gave fifty cents to the office, and the office put this matter on "Internet searching for you", which caused many comments from netizens and became sensational news. Some netizens said: "In real life, an unremarkable 50-cent coin has no value. What's the difference between losing and having? Such a trifle is not worth mentioning! Hey, show! " Some netizens also said: "In today's rapidly developing society, this spirit of having no money to find money really needs to be carried forward. Let this style be carried forward in life, otherwise who will do such stupid things for free in the future? " Alas, my friends, don't you think that human beings have lost their minds? Just for their own good life, at the expense of the human touch. Why does the same person have a pure heart in childhood and become a selfish heart in adulthood? Because when they grow up, they are often blinded by attractive food and luxurious cars. I often ignore stepping on a good thing, because it is unremarkable, and I just want to step into the sky. Confucius once said, "Don't do good, don't do evil." So we should start with small things, and start with small things around us. On the other hand, if you deny this spirit of change, you can also think from the long-term perspective of 50 cents. Sometimes, when you get rich occasionally, you will think: fifty cents is a piece of cake for me. But think about it, life is not omnipotent, nor is it destined to be rich or poor. Perhaps, you have worked hard for fifty cents, and this fifty cents has accumulated more wealth? Therefore, we should cherish this hard-won achievement. Maybe it's ordinary for yourself, but maybe that's the happiness of others. This is the inspiration of a 50-cent coin-carry forward the traditional Chinese virtues and cherish every harvest in happy growth.
