About me

I'm not a calligrapher, because there are often two kinds of calligraphers: one is that thousands of people flock to Taobao as soon as you wave; There is another kind that is "high in the temple". I don't know if I care about its people, but I know that they won't design your signature. In fact, there is a third kind of person in calligraphy, but it is rare, and I am the legendary dragon who has never seen the end. . . . . . Don't laugh.

Tell me something about calligraphy that you may not know

I don't know what calligraphy is like in your eyes? Some people say that calligraphy is the core of China's culture and the first of all arts. However, others say that calligraphy is more of a technique, just a superficial effort, an illusory bubble that grows bigger and bigger, and a beautiful lie. There are too many different views and arguments.

I used to have many different ideas, and they are constantly changing. Maybe you will say, you are changeable! Yes, I am changeable, and I think changeability is an essence of calligraphy art.

I am now more of an objective attitude towards calligraphy, and I like it rather than being crazy. But in fact, I don't like the meaning of the word "objective". The objective is often not naive or free and easy, but in retrospect it is not objective and can't get close to the essence of things. Then, this is contradictory. That's the point-contradiction is the nature of calligraphy, and a pool of stagnant water is not calligraphy-like life.

I like atmospheric and natural calligraphy. Atmosphere is a kind of personality, and personality is the essence of art. You may not like atmosphere, but you are unlikely to dislike personality.

as for nature, there is no need to explain it, and no one will object. Nature is the essence of art.

Also, I like Su Dongpo's famous saying about calligraphy theory: "I can't make a book, so I'm tired of pushing and pulling." This sentence is casual, casual can express true nature, and expressing spirit is a task of art. But don't get me wrong, being casual doesn't mean being casual, but following the mood and nature. It also requires profound artistic skills to be casual, and it is difficult to grasp if you can't be far away from the rules or too close to them.

well, here you may be wondering, is changeable, contradictory, individual, atmospheric, natural and casual calligraphy? Is that what calligraphy is? So, is graffiti art? Hehe, then you are wrong. If nothing else, this alone can't cross the threshold of calligraphy-nature. It is natural to scribble, because if you observe it, you will find that everything natural is beautiful, and if you scribble, you can be beautiful, then you are Xu Wei (a great calligrapher, painter and literati in Ming Dynasty), which is a realm that you can't reach without great talent. However, if you are not an official or in a high position in the contemporary era, it is almost impossible for you to become a famous man when you are alive, because Xu Wei once said, "A learned man is not vulgar, but a vulgar man is not a learned man." Oh, what's more, most people who hold the right to speak are vulgar (I'm not alone).

There are so many schools and arguments of calligraphy that people who don't know calligraphy can't understand them, so that people who cheat the world and steal fame come forth in large numbers. It doesn't matter that we can't distinguish the art of the palace, but it's really a kind of sorrow if even the third-rate vulgar things are considered good! Speaking of this, the topic is big, from the education system to the social fashion. I just want to say three things to you simply: First, it's not all your fault if you don't understand; Second, if you learn calligraphy, you will certainly gain a lot. Third, if a person says that he is a calligrapher, then first of all, he is often not, and the calligrapher himself would not say so. Secondly, look at his brush regular script or ask him to take out his brush regular script (the pen doesn't count, and you can't see his skill). Ordinary people like running script can't tell the difference between high and low. Is regular script still not good? If a person can't even write a regular script with a brush, then he can't even talk about a ninth-rate calligrapher. He hasn't entered the calligraphy door yet!

about signature design

signature, everyone who comes here is here to sign. Whether you just look at it or want to design it, I welcome you very much!

I don't know the concept of the word signature in the dictionary, but I have my own understanding of signature:

First, no matter what others say about signature, no matter how many mysterious arguments and concepts there are, I think signature can never be separated from the soil of traditional calligraphy. Signature is something that has existed since ancient times. Of course, modern people have a modern life, and society has changed. However, Chinese characters have always been handed down by the ancients. If you blindly pursue the alternative, it is not like words. Then the alternative may be an alternative, but it feels like a wanderer who has left his hometown has forgotten his way home. It is painful!

second, even if a person's name is just a code name, it also represents you, and you are unique among the millions of people in Qian Qian in this world, and everyone is extremely distinguished and has unique value. So, should your signature be unique? In my opinion, another factor of signature is personality.

Third, apart from the above two points, I really can't think of anything beyond the above two points, because I am not a "calligrapher". Calligraphers can give you a thousand points. I hope that's not a thousand reasons for being sad. But the above two points are not simple, but cover a wide range. The following is my brief explanation of the above two points:

Tradition: China ancient calligraphy has been circulated for more than 2, years, resulting in a large number of calligraphers (truly, Also produced a lot of calligraphy theory and appreciation methods, but many of them have disappeared in the wheel of history, but can be handed down, and some even seem strange, but can find the shadow of the mainstream from it, all of which are things not far from the rules mentioned above. The history of calligraphy has developed along a line. The front of the line is very simple, and there are more and more branches at the back, just as the branches in the lower reaches of natural rivers always branch more than those in the upper reaches. In any case, there should always be a mainstream in the river! But today, the original mainstream has fallen into a tributary. Why? I think the most important thing is the appearance of the pen, which changed the life of the brush! (Of course, it is immortal. ) The main reason why calligraphy can become an art is that its writing tools are special, and with the cooperation of Xuan paper and ink with different concentrations, the ever-changing beauty of lines can be formed. It is impossible for a pen to form such a strong aesthetic feeling! Once a foreign scholar was shocked when he saw China's calligraphy, saying: Your ancestors created such exquisite art for you with strange writing tools, while our ancestors only used blunt tools to write poorly at that time. Now, there are many people who just write a few words "fluently" with a pen and pretend to be a "famous calligrapher" everywhere, writing "flower sign, business sign, fashion sign, imitation English sign, digital sign, pen sign" and so on, which are full of ugliness. He just thinks that you don't know calligraphy and signature, but he knows a little better than you, or Excuse me, are those still Chinese characters? Is the square character taught by the teacher sung in the song? Do you have the charm of Chinese characters? Would you like to use him to represent you?

this is a departure from tradition, but isn't it just good to stick to tradition? The answer is no. When someone mentions tradition, they think it is pedantic, outdated and rustic. Actually, tradition can be fashionable. Do you think the lyrics of Jay Chou's Blue and White Porcelain are rustic? What about answer straight? Is the leading girl in Lang Lang and the Prosecutor pedantic in reciting the Model? The movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and so on. . . . . . Tradition and fashion are not contradictory, but they are well integrated.

this brings me to the second point I mentioned above-personality, first of all, the personality of the times. There are a few words in calligraphy theory: Jin people respect rhyme, Tang people respect law, Song people respect meaning, and every different era has different ethos and aesthetic orientation. If you sign with official script or even seal script now, others will really think you are pedantic. What is the personality of the present era? I think I can only tell you that this problem is too complicated, and there is no unified standard or understanding in academic circles. Personally, I think the first major feature of modern times is diversification, the second is impetuousness, and the third is publicity. . . And what do you need? This comes to the second kind of personality-the problem of personal personality. People admire personality very much and don't want to go with the flow, but how many people can escape a custom (deliberately pursuing personality often leads to vulgarity) and get their true personality? I can't answer this question, but I can only understand it without words. Use life to experience it slowly and carefully!

At the end

Maybe you still don't know me, but you can feel it from my words. Of course, I don't learn to write articles. Please forgive me if I can't write words. I just want to tell you a little about calligraphy and signature in the most popular and simple language, with few terms and as little as possible.

Finally, I wish you find your own personality!
