How to install the printer driver when the computer is windows xp?
If the driver installation disk is provided as an executable file, you can complete the simplest direct operation in SETUP.exe step by step according to the prompts of the installation wizard.

If only driver files are provided, the installation is relatively troublesome. Take Windows XP system as an example to introduce here.

Methods/steps

First open the control panel, and then double-click the printer and fax icons in the control panel.

Then the following window pops up:

This window will display all installed printers (including network printers). To install a new printer, click Add Printer on the left and the Add Printer Wizard will pop up.

Click Next, and the following window will appear, asking whether to install a local printer or a network printer. The default setting is to install a local printer:

If you directly click Next to install a local printer, the system will automatically detect the printer type. If there is a driver for this printer in the system, it will be installed automatically. If it is not installed automatically, an error will be reported. Click Next to open the following window:

Usually, the default value should be used here. Click Next to pop up a window asking about the printer type:

If you can find the corresponding manufacturer and model in the left and right lists, select it directly and click Next; If not, we need to provide the drive location, click Have Disk, and then select your drive location in the pop-up dialog box, such as floppy drive, CD, etc. After finding the correct location, click Open (if the provided location is incorrect, there will be no correspondence after clicking Open, so you are advised to re-select), and the system will start the installation, and then you will be prompted to give a name to the printer being installed and ask whether to use it as the default printer (that is, after issuing the print command, the corresponding printer will be executed).

Select and click Next. Then the following window appears, asking whether to print the test page. Generally, all newly installed printers should be tested:

Click Next after selection, and finally click OK to complete the whole installation process.
