Later, the Huaishang Army Monument was rebuilt after suggestions from the Bengbu Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference. On January 29, 1920, Zhang Huitao was assassinated by an assassin in Shanghai. It was known in history as one of the "three major murders in Shanghai". Mr. Sun Yat-sen personally wrote the inscription "The soul of the country will never die" for Zhang Huitao. Due to historical factors, Zhang Huitao's historical remains were buried for nearly a century.
