3.1.1 Basic student status
Including family name, first name, and middle name (Middle Name), country of birth (Country of Birth), date of birth (Date of Birth), nationality (Country of Citizenship) and admission number (Admission Number). Note that the last admission number does not exist for most domestic applicants.
3.1.2 Basic status of the school
Including school name (School Name), school official to be notified of student's arrival in U.S. (School Official to be notified of student's arrival in U.S.), School address, school code and approval date. Among them, the last school code will be used when paying SEVIS FEE. For the same school, this number is fixed.
3.1.3 The purpose of signing the form (This certificate is issued to the student named above for)
Indicates the purpose of the student holding the form arriving at the school.
3.1.4 Level of education the student is pursuing or will pursue in the United States
3.1.5 Admission time
This item includes the major that the student will study (majoring in), the latest time to arrive at the school (The student is expected to report to the school no later than), the latest time to complete studies (and complete studies not later than), study time length (The normal length of study). The arrival time at school and the length of study time will be used when filling in the DS form
3.1.6 English proficiency certificate (English proficiency)
This item includes whether the school needs students Submit the necessary language certificate and whether the student meets the language proficiency required by the school
3.1.7 Tuition requirements
This item includes the student’s time within a certain period of time (usually 12 month), including tuition and fees, living expenses, expenses of dependents, other expenses (Other), and the total is given at the end
3.1.8 Proof of Funds
This item includes the financial support that the student can receive within a certain period of time (the same period as item 7), mainly from the student's personal property (Student's personal funds), the school's ( Funds from this school), other (Funds from another source), on-campus employment (On-campus employment), and the total is given at the end. If the sum of item 8 is greater than or equal to the sum of item 7, it proves that the funds are sufficient, otherwise it means that the funds are insufficient. If, excluding personal property, the sum of the remaining three items is greater than or equal to the sum of the seventh item, it is the so-called full prize. If the sum of the remaining three items is less than the sum of the seventh item but greater than 0, it is the so-called prize. 3.1.10 School signature
It is usually signed by the school official listed in item 2 to prove that the form is issued by the school and passed through the school. Approved, the student has legal student status and will be accepted by this school
3.1.11 Student's signature
Proof that the student agrees to accept admission from the school and guarantees that he will be accepted by the school. Return to the country of residence after a short stay in the United States.
If the student is under 18 years old, the signature of the guardian or parent is also required
3.2 Instructions on I-20
The authorization for the collection of student information on this form comes from 8 U.S.C. 1101 and 1184. This information will be used by the National Immigration Service to determine whether the student qualifies for the rights requested.
Instructions for Issuing School Officials
1. When issuing the I-20 form, the school official must provide the admission number after the student has enrolled at the school at the appropriate time.
2. Records regarding Page 3 re-entry
The issuing school official should have a record at the Page 3 re-entry when the student temporarily leaves the United States. The above action can be taken if and only if there are no changes to this I-20 form. Once there are changes to items 4, 5, 7 or 8 of the form, a new I-20 form should be issued.
