Five colors make people blind, and five flavors make people original.
Five colors blind and five tastes deaf, from the twelfth chapter of Tao Te Ching.

Original text:

Chapter 12 of Tao Te Ching

The five colors are blind, the five tones are deaf, the five flavors are cool, the hunting is crazy, and the exotic goods can be harmful. Occupation is for saints, so go and get this somewhere else.

Translation:

Colorful colors make people see things in a blur; Noisy tones make people's hearing fail; Rich food, so that people do not know its taste; Addicted to hunting, people feel wild and crazy; Rare things make people behave badly. Therefore, saints only want to eat their stomachs and do not pursue music and sound entertainment, so they abandon the temptation of material desires and maintain a stable and contented lifestyle.
