Certificate of Eligibility for Residence

In daily study, work or life, everyone inevitably comes into contact with or uses certificates. Certificates can be divided into organizational certificates and personal certificates. There are many things to note when writing a proof. Are you sure you know how to write one? The following is the Certificate of Eligibility for Residence that I compiled. It is for reference only. You are welcome to read it. Certificate of Eligibility for Residence 1

To apply for a visa to Japan other than a short-term business visa or a visa to visit relatives or friends, the inviting person (unit) in Japan must first apply for a visa at the Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. Apply for the relevant "Certificate of Eligibility for Residence". The Certificate of Eligibility for Residence is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Visa applicants must apply for a visa at the Japanese embassy or consulate in China and enter Japan within the validity period of the certificate. If it expires, it will automatically be invalidated. Applications need to be processed through the agency designated by the library.

1. Documents required for each status of residence

Please note that the documents required to apply for a visa vary depending on the type of residence status. (1) All materials that applicants need to submit

(a) Visa application form (photo attached, 2-inch white background) (PDF format) (b) Passport

2. Other related matters

(1) Handling fee 200 yuan (2) Number of days required for review

The review of visa application materials generally takes 4 working days. Depending on the circumstances, the review time may sometimes be extended. Certificate of Eligibility for Residence 2

First, application materials

Generally, the deadline to apply for a visiting scholar in Japan is around January 20th each year, but the school has until January 10th Just review the materials.

Materials include: application form on CSC website, professor invitation letter and CV, scan of my academic qualifications (+ certification), copy of the first page of my article, training report, etc. This is also the application invitation letter.

Second, visa

After receiving the CSC funding, the applicant should quickly ask the Japanese professor’s assistant to help apply for the "Certificate of Eligibility for Residence" (similar to DS -20xx documents (paper originals are required when applying for a visa). About the visa and Certificate of Eligibility to Residence (CESR), you can download it from the website of the embassy on the certificate. It is an excel form and requires photos and electronic signatures.

Regarding the form, if you have no work income during the period, you should fill in Category J (Cultural Activities). However, some schools consider the living expenses paid by CSC as income and ask you to fill in Category N (Professor). This may vary by school. It's different. I learned from Houpu Education that it takes 2-4 weeks or even longer to apply for residence status.

Third, get the certificate

1. Log in to the CSC information platform to read the instructions, select the Overseas Study Service Center (Beijing) and log in to cscse to fill in the information form,

2 . Send a notarized agreement (the person and the two guarantors need to bring their original ID cards during the notarization. My marriage certificate and household register were checked at that time (it must be proved that the guarantor is not an immediate relative). The two guarantors need to bring their original IDs. Employment certificate and deposit certificate, notarization fee is 280 yuan)

3. After paying the deposit (40,000 yuan for one year of study), fax the wire transfer form for confirmation, and you will see the status of the agreement and guarantee on the web platform on the same day It shows that it has been reviewed, and then go to the 2nd floor of Chegongzhuang Branch of the Bank of Communications in Xicheng District to get the deposit receipt (or choose to mail it when faxing); the next step is to entrust a service provider or apply for a visa yourself, book air tickets, and advance living expenses; ( I asked on the phone whether I can receive the advance living expenses when I pass through Beijing on a business trip next week. The answer is no, I have to wait for the visa and air tickets to be processed before traveling to Beijing)

Fourth, miscellaneous daily life

Japanese: Language is just a tool. It’s not a problem if you haven’t learned it, because the workplace is all in English (Japanese professional vocabulary is written in Chinese characters or kana of English words, so you can usually recognize traditional Chinese characters and read 50 sounds. )

Replacement of driver’s license: The driver’s license was notarized by the translator, but in the past it seemed that it was only valid for one year, and then you had to take the test again.

Rental: School dormitories must be applied for by the department office (before the start of school in April and September) Certificate of Residence Eligibility 3

How to apply for the Certificate of Eligibility for Residence

There are generally two ways to apply for Japan's "Certificate of Eligibility for Residence":

First, through the Japanese Embassy in China, the applicant applies directly and provides relevant materials. After accepting the application, the embassy or consulate will mail all the materials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and forward them to the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Justice will then forward the materials to the local immigration bureau where the unit that recruits and admits foreigners is located. The local immigration bureau will report to the Ministry of Justice. Based on the review results, the Ministry of Justice will ultimately decide whether to allow the foreigner to travel to Japan. After receiving the decision from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately notified the Japanese Embassy in China to approve the applicant's trip to Japan, issue a visa soon, and hand over the "certification letter" to the applicant. Taking this path takes a relatively long time, and the fastest is 2 to 3 months.

2. The applicant entrusts relatives and friends in Japan or the school where they are going to attend or the unit where they are applying to work. They will act as their agent and apply directly to the nearest local immigration bureau where the school or unit is located. After approval, the entrusted agent or agency will hand over the "certificate" to the applicant, who will then go to the Japanese Embassy in China to apply for a visa with the certificate. Taking this path takes less time and has a greater chance of signing.

At present, most international students studying in Japan adopt the second option, which not only saves the time of application processing, but also greatly increases the success rate of application.
