Overview of PKCS#7

PKCS#7 describes the syntax of digital certificates and other encrypted messages - in particular, methods of data encryption and digital signatures, including algorithms. When using PKCS#7 for digital signing, the result contains the signing certificate (a list of related certificate revocation lists) and any other certificates on the proven path. If data is encrypted using PKCS#7, it usually contains a reference message from the issuer and the certificate's serial number, which is associated with the public key used to decrypt the encrypted data.

PKCS#7 also supports other features, such as:

Recursion, attaching a digital envelope to a digital envelope, and then attaching a digital envelope, etc. wait.

·Time stamping of encrypted messages and digital signatures.

·Signature count and user-defined attributes.
