Our environmental protection class started in September, 20001year, and now it has formed two characteristic project groups: community education and primary and secondary education.
From September 0 1 year, community environmental protection classes were held in Shui Ying Dongli, Yingjiang Xili, Fengyuan Li Nan and other communities, which was the first time in Tianjin universities, and was commended and vigorously promoted by Nankai District Environmental Protection Bureau. Today, Tianjin has formed a grand situation of "environmental protection classroom into the community" led by the Environmental Protection Bureau, jointly organized by universities and taught by college students.
From September 2002 to now, we have brought environmental protection courses into primary and secondary schools and contacted five cooperative schools that have offered environmental protection courses for a long time. Every task, nearly 100 primary and secondary school students and their parents participated in the activities. Under the guidance of missionaries, the classroom atmosphere is lively, and everyone actively asks questions and participates in activities. In publicity and education, indoor publicity, outdoor games and other ways are adopted to let children experience environmental protection again from games.
In order to stimulate everyone's enthusiasm in class, we also try to adopt more attractive ways such as drama performance to let everyone know about environmental protection in entertainment. From June 5438 to 10, 2006, a drama with the theme of "caring for animals and paying attention to environmental protection" was performed in cooperation with Tianjin Natural Museum and several communities in Nankai District. The compilation and performance of The Sleeping Beauty, The King of Seals and The Journey to the West, with the theme of environmental protection, presented a relaxed and profound environmental feast for tourists from different social circles, which made people start to think about the importance and urgency of environmental protection while enjoying happiness.
Bird watching and love birds.
Bird-watching and bird-loving activities during the May 1 and 11 holidays every year have always been one of the most popular classic activities among members of the Green Line. We make full use of Tianjin's wetland and migratory bird resources, organize members to watch birds, make bird watching records, and improve the knowledge level and environmental awareness of community members in field practice. Through bird watching activities, we pay attention to the living conditions of birds and show the ecological problems of wetlands.
In 2004, more than 100 Green Line members went to Qilihai and Tuanbowa Wetland to watch birds in batches. In the same year, we organized some members to conduct research around Tianjin Bird Market. In May 2005, more than 5438+ 10, and in May 2006, 100 members went to Tanggu and Beidagang to watch birds in batches.
Speech by environmental celebrities
In order to improve the environmental awareness and quality of club members and students outside the club, we invite celebrities and teachers in the field of environmental protection to give lectures from time to time. The lecture gave us a glimpse of environmentalists, and also enhanced the influence of the Green Line on and off campus.
(1) In June, 2004, +0 1, we invited Dr. Jane Goode, a famous zoologist and known as the "patron saint of chimpanzees", to give a lecture in Nankai.
1960, Dr. jane goodall, who was only 26 years old, came to the inaccessible dense tropical rain forest along the Tanganggangbi River on the west bank of Lake Tansankani to get along with chimpanzees day and night and observe them closely. By 1996, Dr. jane goodall has been studying, protecting wild and captive chimpanzees for 36 years. This is the oldest animal research in human history, and jane goodall's discovery is regarded as one of the greatest scientific achievements in the western world.
Out of his love for animals, the doctor launched the "Roots and Buds" activity in his later years, devoted himself to protecting wild animals and protecting our living environment. Roots and shoots groups have spread all over the world, and the Green Action Group of Nankai University is one of these groups.
In June 2004, we had the honor to invite Dr. Jane Goode to give a lecture in Nankai. The lecture was welcomed by the students, and the venue was packed and the atmosphere was warm.
(2) In April 2005, our college invited Mr. Guo Geng, a famous environmentalist, to give a lecture at our school:
Teacher Guo Geng's lecture is wonderful. He told us a lot about the present situation of people getting along with the environment. He also introduced his own ideas: the tombstone of extinct animals made of dominoes and so on. The audience not only learned more about nature, environment and the earth from Guo Geng's lecture, but also deeply thought and reflected on their own behavior from Guo Geng's lecture. In this lecture, we invited a reporter from Tianjin TV Station to record the whole lecture, and also expanded the publicity of this lecture, so that more people and the audience can think about the topic of environmental protection together.
(3) On June 5438+ 10, 2005, we held the "Interview with Jia Zizheng" activity, which changed the single mode of teacher preaching and took the form of personal interview, attracting everyone's attention.
This activity will convey Mr. Jia's spirit of dedicating himself to environmental protection to everyone, awaken the conscience of more people in society and encourage people who are dedicating themselves to environmental protection to continue their struggle. I also convey everyone's love and admiration for Mr. Jia. I hope everyone's love can give him the greatest support and support him on the road of environmental protection.
Jia Zizheng: In order to protect animals and publicize environmental protection, he gave up his job and sold his family property. After a bitter experience, his wife also left him. Now, he put down his daughter who is in the third year of high school and set off for Hong Kong on a tricycle from his hometown Hegang, promoting environmental protection along the way. Mr. Jia is also the creator of the art of "picture in picture". His Picture of Animals won the Guinness Book of World Best because it contains 10,000 animals.
(4) In September 2006, we were fortunate to invite Mr. Yuan Jianming to Nankai Park to promote "environmental protection" and brought us a wonderful lecture.
The activities were combined with exhibition board publicity, signature donation and other activities, and the scene was extremely enthusiastic. At the lecture, the students were moved by Mr. Yuan's will and ambition, and the applause continued.
Yuan Jianming is from Tianshui, Gansu. Born in 1972, he suffered from polio at the age of 3 and was disabled for life. However, after seeing numerous incidents that damaged the environment, he was determined to "wake up the sons and daughters of China with the spirit of being physically disabled and determined to protect the environment, protect the homeland, protect the mother river, protect nature and build harmony."
Scientific practice
With the enhancement of people's environmental awareness, simple environmental publicity and education has gradually fallen behind the times. It is our new goal to closely combine environmental protection propaganda with environmental protection practice and bring out the best in each other.
Typical activities are as follows:
(1) Tianjin water regime survey (won the third prize of the first national college student water regime survey in 2004)
This survey is divided into two aspects: one is the pollution and protection of water resources in Tianjin, and the other is the survey of water-saving awareness of Tianjin citizens. In the survey area, we choose communities and schools to represent Tianjin citizens. Through the investigation of schools and communities, this paper analyzes the present situation and solutions of water resources in Tianjin from two aspects: water saving and water pollution.
(2) Investigation on campus water equipment from June 2005 to October 2005:
The activity involved the whole campus and received strong support from teachers and students. Through investigation and statistics, the damage of water appliances and the waste of water resources in the campus are basically obtained. Let everyone more intuitively realize that saving lies in the usual bit by bit, so as to better implement saving in life.
(3) In the second half of 2006, the recycling activities of used batteries were carried out in the whole school.
During the activity, we will divide the participants into groups and be responsible for recycling the used batteries in each dormitory. Collect the recovered batteries and hand them over to the battery recycling mechanism. At the regular meeting, members will show their team spirit and show you the situation and related knowledge of battery recycling.
Waste batteries are an environmental killer that often haunts the campus, and it is also the most worthwhile activity. Every member of the Green Line will set up a battery recycling box in each dormitory. This activity is mainly to clean the used batteries on campus by entering the dormitory to eliminate hidden dangers. And empty the batteries in the recycling box so that students can put the used batteries in it in the future.
(4) Carry out a series of publicity and practice activities of "Rejecting Disposable Chopsticks"
We organize members to make exhibition boards (including warning posters about the abuse of disposable chopsticks, the exposure of production, processing and storage, the harm to health, the damage to vegetation, and the rejection of disposable chopsticks), and fix the exhibition boards on the bridge leading to the river as long-term publicity, which will cause visual impact to passers-by. Distribute leaflets and questionnaires, and post slogans such as "Rejecting disposable chopsticks" and "Disposable chopsticks are harmful to health" in conspicuous places in canteens and dormitories.
At the same time, a large prize contest was launched at the entrance of the canteen to encourage everyone to understand the harm of disposable chopsticks. Prizes include tiemu chopsticks, environmental protection bags, portable resin chopsticks, rice spoons and environmental protection bags.
In combination with publicity activities, we should negotiate with the school logistics and canteen departments to minimize the supply of disposable chopsticks in the canteen.
This activity publicized the harm of disposable chopsticks, and prompted students and teachers to consciously reject disposable chopsticks, thus hitting the market of vendors selling disposable chopsticks to schools. Make teachers and students understand the harm of disposable chopsticks to health and improve their awareness of self-protection, so as to ensure the food hygiene of teachers and students in Nankai. Further strengthen the environmental protection concept of college students, make the environmental protection concept deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and establish the awareness of college students to start from the side.
"Green Culture Festival" series of activities
In the spring of 2006, we officially launched the "Green Culture Festival" series of activities, and prepared to continue it as the traditional culture of green tourism. In the Green Culture Festival, we closely combine publicity with practice; We mobilize members of the whole society and encourage them to plan and carry out activities in the form of project teams, and at the same time cooperate with each other; Combining the traditional culture and innovative spirit of Oasis in recent years, we have done a unique activity with both inheritance and characteristics.
