1. The world's first experimental satellite for space quantum science
"Mozi" is the world's first experimental satellite for space quantum science independently developed by China, and it was launched on August 16th, 216. The satellite was completed by the Center for Excellence in Innovation of Quantum Information and Frontier of Quantum Science and Technology of China Academy of Sciences, from the presentation of scientific concepts to the breakthrough of key technologies, from the development of payloads to the output of scientific achievements.
1. Satellite-ground quantum secure communication, thousand-kilometer quantum entanglement distribution
Mozi can distribute quantum keys to ground stations in outer space thousands of kilometers away at the rate of 1kbps, which is more than 15 orders of magnitude higher than that of optical fiber quantum communication at the same distance on the ground.
this technological breakthrough not only enables China to directly provide high-security quantum communication guarantee to areas that cannot be covered by optical fiber, such as South China Sea islands, embassies and consulates abroad, ocean-going ships, etc., but also provides reliable technical support for China to build a world-wide integrated quantum secure communication network in the future.
3. Excellent performance in the testing stage, exceeding the system index requirements
In the on-orbit testing stage of the quantum science experimental satellite, the satellite platform test, the payload self-test and the link test of the integration of heaven and earth have been completely completed. The satellite platform and payload work normally, and the satellite-to-earth unidirectional, satellite-to-earth bidirectional and satellite-to-satellite unidirectional quantum channels have been successfully constructed. The system channel efficiency, time synchronization accuracy and tracking and aiming accuracy all exceed the system index requirements, which can meet the requirements of space quantum science experiments.
