White deer plain is a novel written by writer Chen for six years, which was first published on 1993. Chen was born in Jiangcun village under Bailuyuan in the eastern suburb. When he was young, he dug wild vegetables and collected firewood in this yellow land. Chen is familiar with the spring, summer, autumn and winter of Bailuyuan and the rise and fall of vegetation.
From 1988, Chen settled his wife and elders in the city, went to his ancestral home in the country alone, and devoted himself to writing. After four years of hard work, Chen has to compete with various characters in his mind every day. The tangled mood makes the wrinkles on Chen's forehead as deep as the ravines on the Loess Plateau. On March 25th, 1992, White Deer Plain with nearly 500,000 words finally came to an end.
