Adopt the most beautiful flying fox.

1? Now let's "adopt" the most beautiful electronic flying fox FoxMail 3. 1. Flying Fox is petite, and the downloaded file size is only 1. 1 1MB, which can be downloaded from us.

The version of foxmail 3. 1 downloaded from the Internet is a self-installation file, so you can double-click it directly. FoxMail can be installed on disk. If it is installed on disk D, such as D:\FoxMail (the name can be customized). In order to run FoxMail conveniently, it is suggested to establish a desktop shortcut of FoxMail. If you are a user of FoxMail version 2.x or 3.0, the installation is very simple, just install the file into the folder where the old Foxmail is located.

Train my flying fox and set up an email account.

1. Let's go. Click the FoxMail shortcut established on the desktop with the mouse (or install FoxMail program in the directory) to run Flying Fox for the first time. Be sure to establish the directory where FoxMail is located before you start running the program, because you will be asked to specify your mail storage directory when you run FoxMail for the first time.

2. Welcome to run FoxMail for the first time. You will start the wizard to help you set up your personal email account (user account). Click the Next button (the following steps are similar).

The so-called user account is to set the technical parameters of sending and receiving emails in FoxMail, such as server address, email name, reply signature information and so on.

3? Enter the user name. I suggest you enter a meaningful name, such as your nickname ("Beibei") or the purpose of use ("Love Line").

4? Set the mailbox path. Setting the mailbox path is to set the location (called the path or directory) where FoxMail will store the received letters on the hard disk. Generally, the default path is selected, that is, the path where FoxMail is installed.

If you want to store the mail in the location you think is suitable, you can click the "Select" button and select a directory in the pop-up directory tree window.

5? Set the user's personal information. Personal information is just like the address and name used to write letters. Enter your signature (sender's name) and your email address according to the prompts in the window.

The email address you enter is generally the email address you often use to receive letters, such as loveme@2 1cn.com and so on. Note that you need to apply for a personal email address.

6? Specify the mail server. For example, if the e-mail address of 167 user is loveme@cc.cngb.com, the address of the POP3 server will be set to 203.93.11.1. Enter your email account name in the POP3 account name text box. For example, loveme is the name of the email account in the example above.

A mail server is a computer that classifies, sends and receives mails on the Internet. If FoxMail is express delivery, the mail server is the post office. We must tell the courier which post office to pick up the letter and whose letter to pick up. There are generally two forms of mail server address, namely, analytical address (such as 163.com, pop.2 1cn.com) and numerical address (such as 265433). Mail servers are divided into SMTP servers and POP3 servers. SMTP server is the mail server used to send letters, while POP3 server refers to the server that receives mail. In many cases, the POP3 server and SMTP server are the same server (that is, the addresses of the two servers are the same). Regarding the address of your email server, you should carefully check the email service description. Enter the SMTP server address in the SMTP server text box. For example, Changchun 167 users should enter 203.93.11.1,and Changchun 163 users should enter public.cc.jl.cn. Enter the address of the POP3 server in the POP3 server text box. For example, Changchun 167 users should enter 203.93.11.1,and Changchun 163 users should enter public.cc.jl.cn. Finally, click "Finish" to finish.

Flying fox tries his hand for the first time and sends and receives the first email.

1? Start FoxMail. After the above settings are completed, the FoxMail window will start. In the upper left corner of the window, you can see the "Love Line" account we have established. Click the+sign next to "Aixing", which lists various built-in function mailboxes (used to store different types of mail) under this account.

If you minimize the interface window, the program will shrink to an icon in the status bar of the taskbar. Click the icon to restore the interface window.

2. Check the user account. Click the "Account" menu item, and select the "Attribute" item at the bottom of the pop-up account menu to open the account attribute setting window. Select the "Mail Server" tab option in the window, view and modify the mail server address just set, and finally fill in the password for accessing the mailbox (or enter the password when connecting to receive mail), and the mail server is basically set up.

Be sure to verify that the server address of the e-mail address you use is correct. It is recommended to use addresses in numeric format. For example, Changchun 163 users can use 202.98.0. 140, so the connection speed may be faster.

3? Build a network. Select "Options/System Settings" in the menu, and select the "Network" tab in the pop-up settings window. If you surf the Internet through local area network, please select "local area network or private line" in the label. Dial-up Internet access can be "manual" (that is, manual dialing, manual disconnection, FoxMail does not participate), or you can choose convenient "automatic dial-up Internet access".

4? Start receiving the first email. Click the second tool button on the interface toolbar to start collecting letters from the email server.

When receiving letters, FoxMail will have a small status window, which will show every step in the process of receiving letters, including network connection, login, reading email information and the progress of receiving each letter. After receiving it, it will also display the number of letters received, saved mailboxes and other information.

5? Write an email (Figure 3). Click the "Write" button on the third icon in the toolbar, and the program will pop up the email editing window. The text box at the top of the window allows you to fill in the address information of the email, and the text editing window is at the bottom.

6? The address and subject of the letter. First, enter the e-mail address of the recipient in the recipient box at the top of the window. If you send an email to yourself, you can write love.me @ 21cn.com. There can be multiple recipients, separated by commas. You can also fill in other recipients in the "CC" column.

Please fill in the subject line carefully. A theme like "the first letter" will attract the attention of the recipient. In addition, setting an address book in FoxMail (menu "Tools/Address Book") can make you send a lot of emails easily.

7? Edit operation. Now you can write the specific content of the letter. FoxMail provides a good writing template (you can set it yourself), which can automatically add letterhead, signature and so on for you. To simply set the font and background color of letters, you can choose the menu Options/Editor Properties setting.

8? Add attachments. Independent files (such as text files, image files, programs, etc.). ) is called an attachment. The method of adding attachments is to prepare the attachment file first, then select the penultimate icon (paper clip icon) in the mail composition window, and select the attachment file to send in the pop-up file selection window. If there is more than one, you must choose multiple times. When sending letters, FoxMail will automatically send these attachment files.

9. Send mail. Sending e-mail is very simple. Click the first icon on the toolbar of the composition window to send the letter immediately. Click the third icon in the toolbar to save the written email as a draft (saved in the Outbox, which can be identified by the email icon), and then edit it later. For most dial-up users, they usually write emails offline and then send them online. At this point, you need to select the second icon in the toolbar to save the message to the Outbox. When surfing the Internet, select "Send" in the main interface of FoxMail (the first button in the toolbar), and the letters waiting in the outbox will be sent out one by one.

Tip: If you want to write a reply or forward an email. First, select the email you want to reply to in the inbox or mailbox, and click the fourth icon in the toolbar to pop up the writing window for replying letters. Other operations are the same as above. If you forward the letter (click the fifth icon button in the toolbar), it will be sent to others as it is, just add the forwarding address.

Growing flying fox, reading and management of mail

1. Read the mail. FoxMail stores all received letters in the inbox. When the inbox is opened, the list of messages in the inbox is displayed in the window on the right. Each email lists the title information of the letter. To read a letter, click it directly with the mouse and you can read it in the following reading window (if you double-click a letter, you can open a special reading window to read it). If you click on the "Date" column with the mouse, the mail will be sorted in ascending order of date, or you can click on other items to sort.

If there is a paper clip next to the type icon in the mail list window, it means that the mail has an attachment, and the attachment icon will appear in the mail reading window together with the attachment. Double-click the attachment file to open or save the attachment in the pop-up dialog box.

Tip: In FoxMail, you can mark the mail processing. One is to mark the message as "read" or "unread" (the green dot after the sender's name indicates that the letter is unread). One is to mark whether the letter is replied (blue arc arrow), or you can use the menu item "Mail/Mark Status as" to mark the letter.

2? Create a new sub-mailbox (Figure 4). FoxMail 3.0 can set up multi-level sub-mailboxes like a directory tree, so that letters can be stored in different categories. If you want to create a root mailbox, please select an account, and then choose the menu "Mailbox/New Mailbox". In the mailbox list window at the top left of the program interface, a mailbox with the words "new mailbox 1" appears. Enter the mailbox name and the mailbox will be created.

Tip: If you want to create a sub-mailbox, first select a root mailbox, and then create a new sub-mailbox according to the above method.

3? Set up multiple accounts (Figure 4). If there are several users in a computer's FoxMail program, or you want to send and receive letters with several email addresses, then you need to set up multiple accounts. Select the "Account/New" menu, and the program will call the wizard to help you set up a new account. Please refer to the previous content for the specific process. After setting up, you can see a new account, which also contains various function mailboxes, and you can send and receive letters separately.

Tip: You can also set up an account to receive letters from multiple mailboxes (set in the Account Properties window). In addition, in order to realize the real multi-user use of the program, it is necessary to provide protection for users' emails. FoxMail provides two levels of password protection for accounts and self-built sub-mailboxes (select "Account/Access Password" in the menu).

4. Remote mailbox management. Using the remote mailbox management tool, you can know in advance what kind of mail is in the mailbox, and process it, or view or delete or collect it, so as to be targeted. Select Tools/Remote Mailbox Management in the menu, and then click Get Server Information in the pop-up window. The program will visit the mail server and list all the mails in your mailbox, and then you can operate them (just choose the command at the top or bottom of the window).
