The UEFI Secure Boot mechanism advocated by Microsoft can prevent viruses from entering during the startup process of UEFI computers. However, currently, except for Windows 8, only Linux system loaders can support this driver. The program requires a signed secure boot mechanism. Other Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7, are not supported. Therefore, if you want to install Windows 7 or other operating systems on a Windows 8 certified computer, we need to turn off the secure boot function in the UEFI settings menu.

To disable the secure boot function, we first start the computer and then access UEFI according to the computer's settings. On many computers this is usually by pressing the [Delete] key. However, different manufacturers may have different settings. , please refer to the motherboard manual for details. Depending on the UEFI version, the secure boot option is usually under a tab. This tab may be named "Boot", "Security" or "Authentication". Looking for similar tabs, we will find a "Secure Boot" " option, this option is set to "Enabled" by default.
