Brief introduction of Ba Jin

Ba Jin, whose original name was Li Yaotang, also had the courtesy name Fu Gan. A native of Chengdu, Sichuan. In 1920, he was admitted to the Chengdu Foreign Languages ??Vocational School. During his studies, he participated in the activities of the anti-feudal progressive publication "Ban Yue She". In 1927, he traveled to France to study in Paris and began literary creation. The following year, he returned to China to engage in literary activities. After the September 18th Incident, he actively participated in national salvation work and got in touch with Lu Xun. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he and Mao Dun founded "Beacon Fire" and served as a director of the All-China Literary and Art Circles Anti-Enemy Association.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served successively as Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association. He is currently Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
