1944 studied painting in Zhang Chongren's studio. 1952 graduated from the painting department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has been the creator, editor, editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief of People's Fine Arts Publishing House and chinese comic Publishing House, and served as the deputy director of the Comic Art Committee of China Artists Association.
His works include Shenhuo, After the Armistice, Battle of Zhuolu, Fairy Painting, Red Cliff Tour, etc.
The comic book Storm won the first prize for script and the second prize for painting in the first national comic book award, and published many articles in magazines such as Fine Arts and Series Comics.
