B flat-C flat-B flat is Bach's signature scale, because these four tones are exactly the tones of four letters in Bach's German pronunciation. Many of his polyphonic works have this signature scale, but it is not clear whether other composers have such signatures, except that the first five notes of Schumann's Variations on Abegg are also "Abegg".
