Impact and significance:
We can help the world listen to more voices from China, understand richer Chinese culture, and feel more unique Chinese values. Filling the gap of Chinese literature in the world's most important literary awards will make the country pay more attention to and support literature.
Mo Yan's novel "Frog" mainly tells the life of Wan Xin, a rural doctor. "Auntie's" father was a military doctor in the Eighth Route Army and was very famous in the Jiaodong area. "Aunts" inherited the mantle and began to implement new methods of delivery in the countryside. They soon replaced the status of "old hags" in the hearts of women, and used the new methods to deliver babies one after another.
This novel is contrary to the uncontrolled language in Mo Yan's works. The language is clean and there are few side branches. The writing of the novel is ingenious: the letter-style narration not only facilitates the author's writing, but also closes the distance between time and space and the distance between the author and the reader; the drama is a re-narration and effective supplement to the letter part from another perspective, which combines Mo Yan's awe and worship of life are pushed deeper and deeper, and the whole novel is therefore more meaningful and tense.
