Roman Gary (1914-1980) is a famous French writer. Formerly known as Roman Kashev, he is a descendant of Russian Jews. He spent his childhood in Russia and Poland and moved to France from 65438 to 0926. During the Second World War, he went to London to go to Charles de Gaulle, joined the "Free France" Air Force, and moved to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Twenty years after the war, he worked in the diplomatic field and served as the French Consul General in Los Angeles.
Romain gary's first novel "European Education" was published in 1945, which made him famous. The novels The Source of Paradise (1956) and This Life (1975) won the gunther Prize, but it was his autobiographical novel The Promise of Childhood (1960) that really brought him international fame. His works are full of illusions about freedom and justice, permeated with the spirit of humanism and optimism, and focus on revealing all kinds of disasters faced by human civilization and condemning "fraud, lies and hypocrisy".
