Extended data:
Foreign currency collection is a very small collection project, and my RMB collection has reached the bottleneck, so I turned to this direction. Compared with RMB collection, foreign currency collection has the following characteristics.
First, the investment is small. Due to the fierce speculation in China, most versions of RMB in the 1980s and before needed four-digit investment. The first and second sets are almost impossible for ordinary enthusiasts, while foreign currency is much easier. After the 1950s, except the face value, the premium rate was significantly lower than that of all versions of RMB.
Second, there are many versions. It usually takes ten years for the new version of RMB (as most East Asian countries do). Because foreign currencies are signed, signature replacement usually leads to version replacement. For example, Hong Kong has a new date almost every year. If we insist on a complete set of each version like RMB, the economic pressure will be great.
The third is systemic. There are many countries in the world, but in fact there are not many printing institutions. Except developed countries, most of them are printed by other countries. Therefore, there is always a feeling of deja vu in foreign currency collection, such as being familiar with digital fonts of TDLR, rainbow printing, honeycomb lattices, multi-color machine-carved patterns, and linear security lines to micro-text security lines in the 1980s and 1990s. If you get new banknotes, you will find that it is only a simple repetition, and your sense of acquisition will be greatly reduced.
Fourth, there must be directionality. Foreign currency collection is a modest pit, with little demand and little money. Sticking to the big set will also encounter bottlenecks, such as my direction is technology and culture. Other Tibetan friends include the direction of Western Europe, the direction of the euro zone and the direction of the portrait of the Queen. Even if the direction is determined, sometimes I will start when I see the money I like.
Fifth, it is difficult to sell. The old version of RMB has fair value in the market, and it is good to sell it slightly below the market price. Foreign currency? I haven't sold it since 20 13, which is also related to my caution before I started.
