Plagiarism emerges one after another.
The reason why "plagiarism" has become the first keyword of Tencent is very simple. Looking back from the release of QQ2003 by Tencent to the present QQ2005, how many original technologies or functions can we see? I'm afraid there are only a handful. QQ, as the flagship product of Tencent, deserves enough attention from Tencent and embodies its greatest efforts, but it is such a pillar product that every update is accompanied by plagiarism.
The first impression a software gives users is the software interface. Take the menu, an important interface improvement in QQ2005, as an example, which is called "fashionable and smooth interface design" by Tencent. Don't you feel familiar? That's right. This is the most commonly used start menu in Windows XP. QQ chat window began to imitate MSN Messenger as early as the launch of QQ2004. This is just plagiarism on the software interface, and Tencent QQ's plagiarism on other competitors is even more numerous. For example, customized expressions, customized avatars, multi-person chats, personalized signatures, QQ magic books, Q areas, etc. are all copied from MSN Messenger. Among them, plagiarism in Q area is even worse. Even the file name of the program was copied to QQSpace.dll. Tencent can't tell the difference between space and space? Tencent not only copied international brands such as MSN Messenger endlessly, but also domestic competitors. Among them, Tencent QQ's alumni records, files and chatting with many people are all copied from UC, a rising star.
Now, Tencent has even reached the point where it is too lazy to copy, and directly spends money on the excellent technology of competitors. Recently, Tencent's QQ Super Voice was bought from a foreign software technology company. I think many computer users in China also know that Skype is the first representative software to use this voice technology. The purpose of Tencent's doing this is nothing more than to suppress the simplified Chinese version of TOM-Skype launched by Skype and Tom online.
I can't help asking, if such a well-known enterprise in the IT field can only copy most of the functions of its products from its competitors, will he do anything else besides copying?
Backward technology and lack of progress
If plagiarism can be beautified as "reference", who can blame for the backwardness of software development technology? It has been six years since Tencent 1998 released Oicq, during which the technical development of the software industry has made rapid progress. However, Tencent's software development technology has made slow progress, or even no improvement. If you are an old user of Tencent QQ, you must miss QQ very much. Its small size and excellent performance make many people switch from ICQ to Tencent QQ, and also establish Tencent's unshakable position as the largest instant messaging software operator in China. Up to now, the hard disk space occupied by QQ2005 has exceeded 70 megabytes, from 7 megabytes to 8 megabytes in QQ2000, to more than 20 megabytes in QQ2003 and more than 40 megabytes in QQ2004. For a chat software, such a bloated and huge software volume is obviously unbearable. Therefore, there will be various "effective ways to lose weight" for Tencent QQ on the Internet, and users are constantly hoping that Tencent can produce a simplified version of QQ. I really don't know if I will need to upgrade my hard disk in order to install QQ in the future. In addition, this does not include the space occupied by Tencent browser and QQ games forcibly installed on users' computers.
The crux of QQ's huge body lies in the backwardness of Tencent's software development technology. According to rough statistics, a fully installed QQ contains nearly 2000 program files. Using more than 2000 files to form a chat software is really a technical failure and the incompetence of software development. You know, other similar software is much more streamlined than Tencent Q Q. MSN Messenger has only 19 files, but its function is not worse than Tencent QQ, or even more powerful.
Due to the backward programming technology and bloated software, Tencent QQ now requires higher and higher performance of users' computers, which is a trend of computer hardware killers. Under normal circumstances, when a QQ with only 10 friends runs, it consumes about 30-40 megabytes of computer memory, and with the increase of the number of friends, the memory usage will continue to rise. This is too large for the computer's standard memory of 256 megabytes, and even some users can't do other work with their computers after running QQ.
For ordinary users, if the above disadvantages are not easy to detect, then users can say that they have the most say, because the software running is unstable due to these disadvantages. It is not uncommon for Tencent QQ to have illegal operations. It is rare for people who do not operate illegally. In Tencent's official user community, users complain about the unstable operation of Tencent QQ.
Safety has nothing to do with me
At present, software developers attach great importance to the safety of products, and constantly strive to improve and repair the security loopholes and hidden dangers of products. As an instant messaging software for information exchange and information dissemination, the security and reliability of the software are even more important. How about Tencent's software security?
For those who have used QQ, who has not received viruses such as "QQ tail"? Tencent did not take any effective measures to deal with this virus that ravaged the country through QQ. Tencent's indifference is like a tool and accomplice of virus spreading, but this indifference actually goes against the spirit of "Administrative Measures for Computer Virus Prevention and Control" promulgated by the people of China and the Ministry of Public Security in 2000.
If the spread of the virus is beyond Tencent's control, then Tencent should always pay attention to the repeated security vulnerabilities of Tencent products, right? However, Tencent always shirks its responsibility after every security vulnerability is made public, and blames all the reasons for these security vulnerabilities on Microsoft Windows. Until now, there are still many well-known security vulnerabilities in Tencent products, such as the famous "local message vulnerability", which has existed in Tencent's QQ and TM software for a long time without any solution. This undoubtedly exposes the user's private information in broad daylight, but the user has no choice. I don't know whether Tencent doesn't have this technical strength or doesn't care whether users are safe at all. It is unwilling to solve these security risks and provide users with a safe communication platform.
The version is chaotic and the error is low-level.
If there is a "Software Version Number Best Creative Award" now, then this award belongs to Tencent. From QQ2003 to the latest QQ2005, there have been more than 20 versions. From the preview version to the beta version, to the official version, the stable version, and finally to the Olympic version and the New Year version, users have been at a loss in front of Tencent's numerous product versions. Tencent takes users as free testers, allowing users to test some immature products for Tencent and bear the use risks caused by software instability.
Not only the confusion of software product version, but also the confusion of software release. Take the newly released QQ2005 Beta 1 as an example. The release date that was originally determined and announced was skipped due to Tencent's own reasons, but at the last release moment, there was an extremely rare low-level error in the whole software industry, which led to the continuous delay of product release. What kind of low-level error happened at the moment of release? Tencent QQ's software license agreement is actually Skype's agreement. Do you think this is a miracle of the world? At that time, many people didn't believe it, thinking it was an April Fool's prank, but when we installed two released versions, we had to believe it. Perhaps because Tencent is used to plagiarism, even other people's software license agreements have been copied. It seems that we have to admire the professionalism that Tencent has been boasting about.
An enterprise has such an unprofessional attitude towards its products, so what can it rely on to gain a foothold in this industry? With lies and deception?
Pursue profits, recognize money, and recognize people.
Profit is the natural task of an enterprise, but profit is not everything to an enterprise. In order to make money without considering social responsibility and business integrity, every enterprise can't do it and is spurned by users. However, Tencent's role in this regard, I only use one word to describe "mercenary."
According to Tencent's own statistics, young people, especially minors and students, account for a large part of its over 100 million users, and these people are also the main users of Tencent's paid services. QQ show, QQ dating, QQ games, QQ magic book, etc. All the QQ functions we can think of have paid services. And every time the new version is updated, it provides users with a lot of charging functions to induce users to use it.
QQ Show is a charging service launched by Tencent in the early days, which contains too many cheating traps. First of all, if the user activates the QQ show function, the default is nude photos. I don't think anyone wants to face their friends naked, right? Tencent's purpose is obviously to force users to spend money on virtual clothes. What's even more irritating is that once the user activates the Q Q show, this function can't be cancelled. In other words, if you don't spend money on virtual clothes, then you are naked. Isn't this an insult to users? Moreover, there are many pitfalls in activating QQ Show. If you just think that it's okay not to go to QQ Show Mall, it's all wet. In fact, opening any function in QQ Entertainment will activate the QQ Show function, and I dare not even think about it. In addition, the service life of QQ show clothes is 6 months. In other words, no matter how much money you spend on QQ show clothes, you can only use them for six months, and Tencent deliberately puts this clause in the most difficult place for users to find. This intention can be seen.
At the beginning of 2005, Tencent launched a free trial of many functions. If users join this experience, when you want to quit, you will find that there is no way to unsubscribe on Tencent website or QQ. In other words, users can't cancel this experience activity in time at the end of the month, but will deduct one month's usage fee at the beginning of the next month. At that time, users will have to continue to spend money to "experience". There are not a few users who have paid a function usage fee for nothing because they cannot unsubscribe.
In addition to the above, Tencent has also created a clear price tag for QQ numbers around the world. It is hard to imagine that a number that has no meaning in itself will be regarded by Tencent as a magic weapon to make money. You know, the state prohibits telecom operators from charging selection fees for telephone numbers. Is QQ number more valuable than telephone number? If it weren't for the rapid rise of its competitors, I'm afraid we have to pay a QQ number application fee if we want to apply for a QQ number now. At the beginning of this year, Mr. Ma, President and CEO of Tencent Company, donated a QQ number "88888" in an activity called "China Entrepreneur Disaster Relief Charity Auction". I don't know if there is a similar activity again, will Teacher Ma donate a "88888"? If so, Mr. Ma's donation is really inexhaustible.
We found such a passage in the terms of use of Tencent QQ:
3.2.2 The right to use Tencent QQ account belongs to the initial registrant only, and it is forbidden to transfer, accept or sell it. If Tencent finds that the user is not the initial registrant of the account, Tencent has the right to withdraw the account without having to bear legal responsibility for the account user. Tencent forbids users to transfer their accounts privately with or without compensation, so as to avoid disputes arising from account problems, and any losses caused by users' violation of this requirement shall be borne by users.
It seems that only Tencent is allowed to buy and sell its own QQ number, and users are not allowed to buy and sell QQ numbers, which is very overbearing. Tencent's violation of users' legitimate rights and interests for its own benefit has been exposed many times, and many users are indignant at Tencent's lack of business integrity. In such a commercial society that emphasizes honest management, what Tencent has done is obviously the opposite.
Hide evil and accept evil, poison teenagers
According to Tencent's statistics, the average age of the main users of its products is no more than 24 years old, and accounts for the vast majority. What kind of world can these young users reach through Tencent products?
Due to the poor management of Tencent, the QQ environment contacted by teenagers has been full of pornographic and money information, which seriously harms the health of teenagers. When we casually open a Tencent chat room, we will see some people posting pornographic advertisements, but this information has not been effectively filtered by Tencent at all. The only article that can be found on Tencent that gives tips on teenagers' online behavior is the "Guide to Internet Safety for Teenagers" when installing QQ. With such a hint that no one has seriously read it, can it be said that Tencent is not responsible for teenagers' online behavior?
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Some people are publishing illegal advertising information and spreading cult information that harms national interests. Obviously, QQ has become a tool for some lawless elements. Many cases of illegal and criminal activities through Tencent QQ have been publicly reported by the media. The state also has relevant regulations on the management of chat rooms, but why is Tencent's management so slack so far? Can it be said that Tencent, as the carrier of these harmful information dissemination, has no responsibility at all? Tencent knows that its users are mostly teenagers, but it ignores the management of the network communication environment it provides, which is really inevitable.
That's not all. Tencent QQ portal is full of hidden and provocative harmful information. If some harmful information is spread by criminals using QQ, who is to blame for these suggestive and provocative harmful information deliberately set up to attract attention? As a responsible enterprise, it should provide users with a safe and clean communication environment, not such an environment that hides evil people and practices evil practices everywhere.
Low quality customer service
As a national service enterprise, it doesn't even have an 800 toll-free hotline. It is understandable if Tencent is an ordinary company, but does the money Tencent collects from users and advertisers every year really make them unable to pay the cost of a free phone call? According to the figures in Tencent's annual performance report in 2004, Tencent made a profit of 446.7 million yuan in 2004. Obviously, Tencent didn't start from the interests of users and treat these problems with the attitude of serving customers better.
In Tencent's official product community, users rarely see Tencent staff answering questions about product quality in time. When users encounter problems, most of them will go to some third-party technical communities for help. It's hard to imagine how Tencent's customer service staff can better provide technical help to users with such a lack of understanding of their products. Do users just need an operator?
Customer service staff can't help users solve problems, but also push the problems to the point where users have no choice. If you want to know why your QQ is illegally operated, Tencent will give you the answer: your computer has a virus. Anyway, the user's computer is not good enough, which has nothing to do with Tencent. I really don't know how this attitude can make users trust you.
To sum up these problems of Tencent, IT may also be a common problem faced by various manufacturers in the domestic IT industry. Being quick for quick success, being mercenary and losing credibility has become the signboard of many domestic software manufacturers. Why not be a Tencent? Only Tencent, as a successful model of IT industry in China, is more representative. And the problems exposed by it have caused more and more losses to the interests of users. We sincerely hope that the manufacturers who are the pillars of China's IT industry can take a warning and do more things that are beneficial to industrial development and users, instead of taking deception as their ability and shamelessness as their glory.
