Wu Lei (November 19, 1991-), was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and his ancestral home is Pingyin, Shandong. He is a Chinese male football player who serves as a forward and currently plays for La Liga Royal Espanyol Football Club. He is the record holder for the youngest player to appear in the Chinese Professional Football League and the second youngest goalscorer.
He once played for Shanghai East Asia and Shanghai SIPG Football Club. His goal-scoring ability, vision, awareness and movement are all worthy of praise. On September 27, 2013, in the 26th round of the Chinese Super League, Wu Lei performed a hat trick in 37 minutes to help Shanghai SIPG defeated Qingdao Zhongneng 6-1. Wu Lei performed three hat tricks in one season, which is unprecedented in the history of Chinese football. Wu Lei became the first person in China's top league to complete three "hat tricks" in a single season[8]
On August 18, 2018, in the 19th round of the Chinese Super League, Shanghai SIPG defeated Chongqing Sway 3-2 in an away game, ushering in its third consecutive victory. Wu Lei scored two shots and one pass to win [20]. On October 28, in the 27th round of the Chinese Super League, Shanghai SIPG defeated Shandong Luneng 4-2 at home and continued to lead.
