I have an official passport now. Can it be used to study abroad?
When you say ordinary official passport, you should mean ordinary official passport, also called "small official passport". Ordinary passports for business are mainly issued to general staff of governments at all levels and those who go abroad for business in state-owned enterprises and institutions. If you are sent abroad by your company this time, you can use this passport. Official passports are mainly issued to officials at or above the county level in government departments at all levels, diplomatic missions abroad, consular offices, staff of the United Nations organization system and its specialized agencies, their accompanying spouses, minor children, etc. Therefore, generally studying abroad will not hold such a passport. As for another kind of ordinary passport, for personal reasons, ordinary passports are mainly issued to China citizens who have settled abroad, visited relatives and friends, inherited property, studied abroad, worked and traveled, and China citizens who have settled abroad. Therefore, if you are going abroad for a completely personal act, you must apply for an ordinary passport for personal reasons. Ordinary passport applications are all in the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau.
