Legal analysis: Our country's law does not clearly stipulate which finger to use to press the fingerprint when signing a contract. Generally speaking, press the fingerprint with the thumb or forefinger of the right hand. Labor contracts are generally signed by handprints, and there is no law requiring employees to sign labor contracts with employees by handprints. Signature and thumbprint have the same effect. If there is a signature in the contract, there is no need to thumbprint.

Legal basis: Article 16 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Labor Contract Law shall come into effect after the employer and the employee reach an agreement through consultation, and the text of the labor contract shall be signed or sealed by both the employer and the employee.
