Why did Zhu Yuanzhang want to crack the new champion An Chen? Who is An Chen?
If you want to say who was the worst scholar in ancient times, it must be the scholar of the Ming Dynasty. He only worked for less than 20 days before Zhu Yuanzhang tore An Chen to pieces and killed him!
It would have been a glorious thing to be admitted to the top prize, but unfortunately An Chen was unlucky. After ten years of hard work, it turned out to be such a tragic ending. It really belongs to the kind of bloody bad luck that has fallen to eight generations.
Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang was a famous peasant emperor in ancient Chinese history. After he conquered the world, he established the Ming Dynasty, named Hongwu. In the early Ming Dynasty, the national system was not sound. Even if there were elections, they were mostly by recommendation. The imperial examination did not get on track until the 17th year of Hongwu.
In February of the 30th year of Hongwu, the imperial court held an examination. Zhu Yuanzhang sent Hanlin bachelors Liu Sanwu and bachelor Ji to take the exam. After many examinations, 52 Jinshi including Song Cong were finally admitted.
After the exam, there is the palace exam. These 52 Jinshi took part in the palace examination in March, and finally Li was the top candidate, and Song Cong was the friend and flower seeker.
Why did Zhu Yuanzhang want to crack the new champion An Chen? It turns out that the imperial examination achieved good results due to the efforts of Yi Anchen and others. However, after the results came out, many candidates made trouble. They even jointly signed Peng Daxiang's calligraphy and painting works, accusing the examiners of unfair marking, and believed that the imperial examination was suspected of favoritism.
These troublemakers are all from the north. The reason why I am so angry is that the 52 Jinshi admitted in this examination are all from the south, and the examiners Liu Sanwu and Bai are also from the south. No one from the north, Yang Dongxin, reached the top. Many Yang Dongxin people from Zhu Yuanzhang said with confidence: The examiner deliberately favored the southerners!
This is Zhu Yuanzhang's temper, there is no room for sand in his eyes. When he heard about it, he was very angry and immediately ordered 12 people including Zhang Xin, Dai Yi, and the top scholar An Chen to reread the test papers with the invigilator, and added outstanding northern Jinshi to the ranks.
After rereading, An Chen and others compiled excellent papers for the students from the north. However, compared with those from the south, their papers were really inferior in literary talent, and some even wrote taboo words in the papers!
At this time, others sued An Chen and others. They said that An Chen and the invigilators deliberately let Zhu Yuanzhang read the Beikao papers.
Zhu Yuanzhang became even more angry after hearing this, and executed Bai, Zhang Xin, and others with a wave of his hand. Eighty-four-year-old Liu Sanwu was exempted from the death penalty because of his age; Liu Sanwu was eventually sent to guard the border. In addition, members of the imperial examination, Song Cong, Liu Wei, and others were also sent to guard the border!
The above is the first major imperial examination case since the opening of the Ming Dynasty, and it is also an unjust case. In fact, the entrance examination in the early Ming Dynasty will not admit students by region at all, and the test papers are all fair. The reason why the 52 candidates admitted are all from the south is because the economic and cultural level of the south is higher than that of the north.
The unlucky Fu lost his life because of the North-South War, or died in a car crash. He has been the No. 1 pick for less than 20 days, and he has already become famous before he becomes famous!
After this incident, in order to calm the turmoil, Zhu Yuanzhang personally accepted Ren Boan as Jinshi. In the end, Han Kezhong was the number one scholar, Wang Shu was the Hui Yuan, and Jiao Sheng was the third flower.
