Why did Zhu Yuanzhang name his country Daming? We have to start with Zoroastrianism.

Moreover, the names of palaces in past dynasties were all crowned with the word Daming. In ancient mythology, the word "Zhu Ming" linked the surname of the emperor with the title of the dynasty, which was an auspicious coincidence. In order to keep a low profile, Zhu Yuanzhang devoted himself to the Red Scarf Army, focusing mainly on "Ming", and thus formed an indissoluble bond with the word "Ming" of Zoroastrianism.

In 367, Zhu Yuanzhang became increasingly powerful. So, he sent Liao Yongzhong to take Wang Xiaoming and Han Liner to his base camp, but on the way, Wang Xiaoming mysteriously drowned. Historically, there have been different opinions about the murderer of Wang Xiaoming. Strangely, however, after Zhu Yuanzhang, the name of Wang Xiaoming was still used, and the country name was "Daming". The name of the country is Daming for a reason:

So many people followed Zhu Yuanzhang to conquer the world in order to change their destiny when they became ancestors in the Ming Dynasty. If you lose "Ming", you lose your goal. Therefore, the slogan "Ming" cannot be thrown away. This slogan was in line with the wishes of the working people at that time.

The intellectuals in Zhu Yuanzhang's team, however, guided the country with Confucianism. The core value of Confucianism is "the son is not confused with the phase", and Confucianism opposes the confusion of Buddhism, Taoism and everything. In the eyes of these intellectuals, "Ming" is no longer Wang Xiaoming's "Ming", and they have made their own interpretation of the word "Ming". Tomorrow is the sun, and tomorrow is the moon. In ancient China, it was always to offer sacrifices to heaven and the moon to publicize the divine right of imperial power.

Some people regard the name of "Daming" in the Ming Dynasty as evidence of Zoroastrianism or Anbaili's influence, which can only be said to be superficial and ignorant. The Confucian classics "Book of Changes" and "Book of Songs" both use the word "Daming". It has already appeared in Asia. In the Book of Changes, it means that light goes round and round, achieving the four directions of heaven and earth. In the Book of Songs, it is a tribute to Zhou Wenwang's achievements. Judging from Ming Taizu's respect for Confucianism and China culture, and the meaning of the word "Daming" in Confucian classics, this source is more reasonable.
