Characteristics of Beiyang Navy Uniform 1888
Beiyang Navy is the result of China's initial establishment of a modern navy. Like this army itself, the uniform design of Beiyang Navy is full of the characteristics of the intersection of two cultures. This military uniform style with strong national characteristics was used until the end of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, and was replaced by completely western-style military uniforms in the naval construction in the late Qing Dynasty. However, the influence of this costume culture has continued in China Navy. Dragon, the symbol of the Chinese nation and the epitome of maritime heroes, has been the symbol of China Navy since the Beiyang Navy era. Today, the unique logo of the Ssangyong Pearl pattern can still be found on the uniforms of "China Taiwan Province Navy" on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
